Jet Sitter V4 Expandable Airline Approved Dog Cat Carrier Pet Travel Bag

We used a similar version of this a few years ago when we brought our cat from the United States to Portugal. So we didn't hesitate to purchase a slightly larger one this time for our dog. He's a mix of a Coton de Tulear so he's around 6kilos. At the Air France counter on a flight from Lisbon to Paris the total weight (him and bag was 7.9 kilos - their limit was 8!) So we were able to take him on the flight with us and have him in front of us the entire time. We also took him on a roundtrip flight from Lisbon to Chicago and back and this bag was great. He slept the entire flight (use a blanket to cover the top so that it helps them sleep) and we didn't need to use any meds. The bag is sturdy and can take a beating. It also folds pretty much flat so you can move it around easily. I love the fact that the sides open up since we use this technique to get him inside with treats and then zip the bag up calmly without having to resort to shoving him inside.

I use this for my little dog. I love almost everything about it. The only thing that needs improvement is the zips!

I cannot day enough good things about this travel carrier! At first I was hesitant to purchase this one because I wanted a cleaner design and was bummed the WildOne carrier has been sold out for months. However, I realize now that the ability to unzip both sides is genius! As you can see in the first photo, we were able to zip down the expandable sides under the seat so our 10lb Pomeranian could sprawl out and chill for our 2 hr flight. We also brought our portable fan to encourage some air flow. We didn’t use the fan on our departure flight and he clearly was very uncomfortable, but we decided to whip out the fan on the return flight and he slept the whole way through!What I really like about this bag is:-it’s a neutral, clean color. A lot of other bags are tacky looking- it does not bend or buckle when you carry it by the shoulder strap. I ordered a few more bags from amazon and they ALL did this except this one from Jet Sitter. So this is obviously the one we decided to keep and sent back the others. This feature was VERY important for me...I hate carrying a bag that buckled under the weight of your pet-you can expand both sides, which gives your pet so much more room to be comfortable under the seat-sizing was just right to fit under the seat on Southwest (we got the Medium)-plenty of ventilation and airflow despite both of the longer sides being closed and not having the mesh (the long sides fold up with the fleece padding)-we were able to store some potty pads in between the fleece padding and the siding, along with one of his sweatshirts , which made for great sneaky storage space!-fits perfectly on top of my carryon suitcase with my pup secured in itMy only critiques are:-I wish there weren’t so many zippers needed to be used to expand or fold up the sides (you’ll need to use 3 different zippers...which could simplified by just adding Velcro to the fleece padding to make it stand up when you close the sides vs having to zip this part up)-more storage pockets on the outside. This bag just has 1 on the short side, but would’ve been nice to add another on the opposite short side.

Airlines typically ask you to place items under the seat in front of you during takeoff and landing, and this really doesn't fit. I always have a really hard time even getting it on the floor and I have to shove it between the seats. Also, the side flaps kind of stand up so they're not completely flat unless your dog is laying on top of them. But my dog is happy with it so it all works out.
