The Correspondence between Princess Elisabeth of Bohemia and René Descartes (The Other Voice in Early Modern Europe)

Philosophical discussions at a high level
It is a highly interesting correspondence with a relaxed Descartes that reveals his philosophical thoughts to the intelligent and quizzical princess. And thank gods it is the complete correspondence also including the mathematical letters that some web-editions for obscure reasons leave out as if mathematics was not important to both Descartes and the Princess Elisabeth! The introduction concerning the status of womens contributions to western culture is also highly revealing.

Princess Elisabeth of Bohemia: A striking example of a 17th C. European woman endowed with discerning intelligence.
The book arrived in fair time and in good condition -unlike the correspondence of Queen Elizabeth (Stuart) of Bohemia, which still hasn't arrived after weeks and weeks. The book itself is well worth reading. The dialogue enhances understanding of Descartes and Princess Elisabeth's own thinking is a delight in itself. Very useful for thinking about 17th C . A remarkable exchange between two thinkers.
