Mark Feldstein and Associates Original Singing Bird Wall Clock, 13 Inch (Green)

The Mark Feldstein and Associates DLB023GR Original Singing Bird Clock is a beautiful clock that is accurate if set properly, and will work well on any interior wall that receives light during the times you would like to hear the birds sing. A photo-sensitive cell lowers the volume of the bird songs as the light level drops, so that the songs are not heard when the clock is in darkness.Delivery was on time, and the clock was in perfect shape although the outer carton was partially caved it. I credit the excellent internal packing for preventing damage to the clock due to faulty handling during transportation or delivery. I purchased this clock from Amazon to replace the original Singing Bird Clock that was purchased from a furniture store back in the 1990s. My original clock, whose mechanism finally worn out, had a solid wood frame with a natural finish that went well with picture frames on the wall that it hung on. When my new clock came, with its plastic frame, I switched frames by carefully removing and then replacing the tiny screws that held the frames to the clocks. Now my new clock, with the old frame, has been working perfectly for over a month. It keeps excellent time, and the bird calls seem a bit louder and clearer than they were on the original clock. My guess is that reviewers who have complained that the songs were not loud enough, may have had the clock hanging in dimly-lit areas. The only visible difference between the old and new clocks is the light tan face on the new clock while the old one had a bright white face. Although other reviewers found the light tan face objectionable, I find the face is still easy to read and looks great on my wall.

I bought this clock five years ago. It worked very well but lost a few minutes per year. It finally gave up even after putting new batteries in it. The birdies still chirped, but the clock would not work at all. I bought the same clock recently. The birds are nice and loud and, after three weeks on the wall, it still keeps perfect time. Just be aware that the clock will need to be replaced every few years.

Enjoyed it for a number of years before it became damaged out of carelessness & no longer functioned properly. I didn't think too much about it for a couple of years but, a couple of months ago, I was in Cracker Barrel & they had a bird clock for sale & I realized how much I missed my singing bird clock. I purchased the "new" clock at Cracker Barrel. It featured a different group of birds than was on the original clock & that would not have been a big problem but you could barely hear them sing. Unless you happened to be within a few feet of the clock, forget it. You missed the "bird" sound. I packaged that clock back up & returned it to Cracker Barrel.A few weeks later when I happened to be searching for the "orignal" clock on the internet, I discovered that Feldstein came out with the "ANNIVERSARY" clock. I was delighted & even more so when I found it here on Amazon.Love the birds featured on this clock: cardinal, robin, chickadee, nuthatch, mockingbird, white-throated sparrow, finch, wren, blue jay, baltimore oriole, titmouse & mourning dove. The birds that I see in my own backyard.If you are a nature buff, or a bird lover, I guarantee that this clock will fill you with delight.

The clock arrived quickly and in good shape. It is almost identical to the 15 year-old (or older?) model we had (the older referenced QUARTZ on the front) -- except in the newer art the birds are ever-so-slightly smaller and the coloring is slightly less saturated. The clockwork arms and stem are identical. The back-side functionality is better in the new model as far as changing the bird sounds as needed.The volume is good: those with good to moderate hearing can easily hear it in the same room, and some may be able to hear in in adjoining rooms (but it not so loud to be distracting, or too faint to be useless [unfortunately, the Limited Edition 20th Anniversary Singing Bird Clock, which I bought at the same time, has sounds so faint it is practically worthless -- you can check my review for that on such).The clock was securely screwed to a cardboard backing to protect it during shipping. That was a good thing, except the screws are of flimsy [thin heads] that unscrewing it can strip the screws].A benefit to the new clock -- comparing it to the older version I had -- is that the new one is much easier to correct if [when, during the inevitable power failure, battery change, etc.] the bird songs get out-of-sync. The trick is becoming familiar with the bird sounds (the mourning dove and chickadee are very familiar to me, so I reset, when needed, near the time when those are to sing).Overall, I am satisfied with the clock and it is almost exactly what I expected. My only suggestion for this model [all models with entertaining sound features, especially the 20th edition] is that a volume adjustment be an added feature. I've seen other reviewers suggest the same. In addition, I suggest using slightly sturdier holding screws for attaching to the back cardboard support for shipping (a thoughtful consideration, by the way).

Love the green frame. Great quality. It goes so well in our family room. The soundof all the bird calls are great. My husband has wanted this clock for a long time. HE really Loves it. Thank you for creating it.

I bought this clock for my mother who loves watching and feeding birds. It looks very nice and the sound quality of the birds chirping is excellent. One additional feature of the clock that I wasn't aware of before I bought it is that the bird chirping sounds are light sensitive...so when the room is dark at night, and everyone is sleeping, there is no sound emitted.

Have one of these in the States. Bought for my expat sibling in UK and she's beyond delighted.

We’ve had a clock like this for at least 30 years and it finally died. So I was so glad that I was able to get the very same one. I know the time by the birds and it is comforting to have the same pictures and sounds. And they’ve updated the bird sounds to sound more realistic. Hopefully this one lasts as long as the last one.
