This causes the pants to lose its wicking property over time and also causes a nasty lingering odor to develop. **Q: Can you put these yoga pants in the dryer?** A: For the best wear and long life of your clothes, never put stretchy synthetics (aka: Spandex/Lycra/elastane) in the dryer. The heat will break down the fabric (which is essentially a type of plastic) and they won’t keep their stretch as well and will wear out faster. If you're worried about them fitting, I feel like you could possibly do one size snugger than you're used to, they will stretch.
