EGR solenoid replacement for 89 Jeep RENIX Comanche / Cherokee
Who knew this would work for a part that is not available anymore for a 89 RENIX Jeep Commanche or Cherokee. Did a vac test on new part and works just as old solenoid did. Terminals are in the same position as well for the OEM plug...just need to make jumpers. If your Jeep is idling rough it could be due to this switch being bad and letting a vacuum go to your EGR. Your EGR should not be opening when idling or it will run rough. If you have tried everything else try this too. Also ensure your EGR transducer(black plastic thing doesn't have a bad diaphragm = vac leak) then ensure your EGR itself (round metal thing mounted on motor block) isn't bad either...it may have a bad diaphragm too. All three (solenoid, transducer, and the EGR) were all bad. Runs smooth now. Look up how to test EGR online to see if it is good...easy test.
