I love this morning routine as a great way to wake ...
I love this morning routine as a great way to wake up my body. It is gentle, and yet when done correctly, the exercises are extremely effective...someone with some instruction in Pilates will probably be able to get more out of this workout. However, there are great breathing and positioning cues throughout the video. This workout gets the creaks and aches out and prepares my body for whatever else the day holds!

A Good Beginners Workout Incorporating Pilates
I think Pilates is exactly what the Stott Pilates people say it are - intelligent exercise. I particularly like this DVD because it introduces a classic exercise called the 100. This is a very challenging abdominal strengthener, but easy enough for beginners to get the hang of as well as the benefit. All the exercises incorporate pilates which I think is a wonderful strengthening tool. The video also includes workout principles prior to the workout which are very helpful.

Works for stress relief
Wasn't as intense as i'd hoped but my wife and I use it at the end of stressful days as a relaxer before bed.

Simple and Powerful
This video presents a simple but very powerful routine. There are some subtle movements that are quite sophisticated. Those muscles are inaccessible to me right now but hopefully I will find them with practice.This routine can be used by individuals of varying levels of fitness. It may need to be approached slowly by beginners. With modifications, it can be gentle for beginners and as I mentioned above, quite powerful for those with advanced muscle control.I ordered it to increase core connection and decrease peripheral tension.

Stott Pilates Sunrise Workout Pilates Expess
I'm enjoying this DVD, Moria Merrithew is an excellent instructor. If you've never experienced pilates before, then this DVD is for you. Moria slowly guides you into the moves. However, once you have mastered the routine, move on to her other DVDs, such as Amazing Tone and others alike.

Morning MIracle!
I wake up stiff and grumpy and 22 minutes later I'm glowing and energized. I absolutely love this workout. I've done it 10 times in the (around) 3 weeks since I bought it, and that's 10 times that I wouldn't have exercised because I didn't have time for a longer workout. I also use it before I go to my expensive Pilates session so that my teacher doesn't spend so long on the basics before starting equipment work.The exercises are simple basic Pilates, like swimming prep and the saw, and she only does between 3 to 6 reps, so you get around your whole body in the time. There is a music only option, but I find her cues helpful (she reminds you to lengthen the back of the neck, keep the ribcage in, engage the abs/obliques, whatever).There is a section which explains 5 Pilates principles thoroughly, so you could learn from this DVD, but I suspect it works best if you already do Pilates and don't have time to do as much at home as you would like.The only thing I don't like is that it takes ages to load - you have to select the English language, agree you won't exercise if you are poorly and choose the workout from the menu, but now I scurry round doing chores while the disc takes its own sweet time to get going.I wish there was an evening one to calm you down after work, and one to use for stretching before going out dancing. I'd buy them in a heartbeat.

"Covers 28 exercises" - maybe, but the "Sunrise" routine is no more that 26 minutes of basic movements. The rest of the DVD is publicity for the dozens of products in the series, each varying from 20 to 55 minutes. Make sure to buy the DVD that teaches you something useful that you cannot devise by yourself. The Canadian version is a bit more expensive and is bilingual (main feature only).
