I've used the Hardcover on campus, but I refuse to carry something around that is way more affordable and useful as a Kindle E-book that I can use on all my devices. My instructor uses this book and the respective site and it's absolutely great. Material is easy to learn and remember, but that all comes down to the ambition of the student and the quality of the instructor.I've read customer disappointments with this book not coming with the "campus connect" or other classroom materials that is requested by the campus they are in. This isn't a problem with Amazon, it's a problem with your campus wanting/forcing you to buy from their campus.At the time of THIS review (February 21st, 2014) there is, however, a Online Learning Center for this book provided by the authors that goes along with the material in the book at [...]. This isn't the same as "Campus Connect" but is still a valuable resource in learning the material in the book.Campus Connect: [...]I've researched this "Campus Connect" thing with this book and will say you will have little luck getting it especially if you buy the book used. You should buy this directly from the publisher if you need the "campus connect" or directly from your campus. That's something you shouldn't blame Amazon for.If you bought the book new, try speaking with their customer service [...]. If they can't help you, for whatever reason, you'll just have to return the book and spend more at your campus or through the publisher.

My Professor says that there are somethings that don't match up with the workbook and there a couple errors we have discovered so far and we are only to chapter 2, but other than that Puntos de Partida has some pretty good stuff in there. After they fixed the few simple errors we have found I would recommend it for any beginning spanish class.

This is a hardback textbook. It is a great textbook, but so heavy. I wish it had been available as a paperback. It is so much easier to have an actual book in class than to have to try to find the page on your computer during class. It has a good glossary in the back.

Not much to say about purchased text books. Just make sure you are getting the correct edition.I wish publishers would get away from the game of a new edition a year when there are little or no updates. I would be more likely to purchase my text books in the school book store for a little more money if they would hold down a position and do revisions every 5 years or so. I now wait until after classes start to get them online where they are a little cheaper than the book store.

I like this book for language study. Good conversational practice

I like this book. Its limitation is that it is designed for college students, their concerns, their limited range of experience. As a 67 year old college professor with lots of language experience and life experience it was a bit silly at times.
