Merriam-Webster's French-English Dictionary, Newest Edition, Mass-Market Paperback (English & French Edition)

This was great. I got what I was looking for by Amazon as usual. This is a really good French dictionary to have on hand. I had one just like this that I got in Frankfurt, Germany, but it was stolen. So I’m replacing it with this. I’ll make sure to hold on to it now. Highly recommend!

Very useful

I will first start out by stating I worked for a Doctor for many years that was French and spoke French. I wanted to learn the language and I did learn to speak some and was able to understand the French language. I live very close to the Canadian Border so it came in handy having so may French speaking people coming to our office or shopping around the town. I then had a brain aneurysm which hit me like a bullet in the head, after recovery which took quite sometime, I could never regain the French language again, luckily I could speak any language. Now many years later I want to get that part back as I have lost so many other things in my life since. This dictionary which I ordered the paperback edition (New) first all looked to me like OMGoodness !! Then I started to read the beginning of the book itself and there is where I had to start , it explains how this dictionary works and teaches the language. Once I figured that out I was on my way , not easy for me but I will get there one word at a time. The format is actually quite simple and self explanatory it gives the words in either French or English , there are two parts to this dictionary which makes it super nice. Example : a word in French -amour [amur] , love , passion. That was just an easy quick example but most are the same format. This makes a great dictionary for any student that has to learn the language of either French or English because it teaches both. It's great for anyone that wants to learn to speak and write French because it makes it easy to do , I had looked at others and gave up but this Merriam Webster one has kept me going and I will learn to speak and write the French language again. If I'm able to do this anyone can , trust me: une bonne affaire !

The dictionary is really good. I completely love it, and I'm so happy that it even included a the numbers in French as well. My only con to this dictionary would be that it isn't completely necessary for everyone. Especially with a lot of language learning apps nowadays. It really just depends on what you would like though. So if a dictionary is something that you believe you need, then I 100% recommend.

I needed these for my son for his French class in high school, and they are absolutely perfect for the job. They're exactly what the teacher recommended and have proven to be incredibly suitable for the curriculum. Not only are they well-suited for learning, but they're also wonderfully small and durable, which is crucial for a busy school year. Bought as a gift. She loved it. Gave her my old one from 1970 too.

（いいところ） １．コンパクトで扱いやすい。辞書を引く面倒臭さが多少解消できる（わりと重要） ２．安い ３．ペーパーバックなので、ページがバラバラ取れたりしない（海外の辞書に多い） （もう少し頑張って欲しい点） １．例文がすくない。熟語、決まったフレーズももっと載せて欲しかった 本当はFrench/English のみの物が欲しかったのですが、他の辞書同様English/Frenchがついています。 English/Frenchをなくし、その分例文等を充実させてくれると最高だったのですが・・・ ただ使いやすいので、しばらく愛用することになりそうです。

Great. It is helping my child who is learning French as a second language.

It is better french-english dictionary with IPA pronuncuation for both languages - English as well as French. But i think it should've contained more words from French - Informal, Colloquial, Slang, & other registers of French language

not bad. first half of the book is for French, the other for English. BUT I couldn't find some of French words in it.

Compré este diccionario ya que estamos estudiando frances en casa, y esta muy completo, además cuenta con una guía para poder sacarle el mayor provecho para entender las abreviaturas y explicaciones que contiene de cada palabra y tiene una sección al principio con las reglas básicas del francés, lo recomiendo totalmente. Tenía duda solo porque vi un par de comentarios donde se quejaban de la impresión pero el que recibimos esta perfecto.
