Review: Very comprehensive guide - Okay so I definitely bought the 3DS just because Nintendo decided to remake Ocarina of Time. Needless to say anymore about that, i will mention that this was one of my favorite games to play when I was younger. I Actually still have two excellent condition guides from the N64 edition of this game. 1st I have the BRADYGAMES Official strategy guide and second I have the Official Nintendo Player's guide. This new Ocarina of Time game guide created by Prima is amazing. It is so much more comprehensive of the entire game than either of the other two books. There are no details left out, the people at Prima definitely spent a lot of time orchestrating this book. The maps are all clearly and accurately marked so that you can find anything you are looking for whether it be a gold skulltulas, a heart-piece, or just a treasure chest in a dungeon. The older books that I have are each lacking in their maps and side-quests. Not to mention that the older books don't even cover the Master's quest found on the 3DS edition of this game. In addition to that the older books don't have nearly as much information about finding items and collecting skulltulas, or how to make your way through the temples. Plus the button system to play the songs for the ocarina are completely different. Clearly the strategy guides that are made today are quite a bit better than the older ones. I bet if you wanted to you can look around on the internet and find all of this information for free, but it wouldn't be as well organized and you would probably end up having to use multiple sources, which when I'm playing a game i find to be a pain in the butt. This book has an excellent table of contents right in the front that will direct you to find whatever you're currently looking for. The guide basically has a step by step strategy you could just read along and do exactly what it says or you can find your way through the castle and when you get stuck just find where you are at and read the book. The guide has mini small paragraph by paragraph explanations that assist you along the way, that can easily be skipped if you want to. So basically if you're wanting to have a comprehensive guide of this game, in a neat, well organized, colorful book then I would definitely recommend this Strategy guide. It's not too expensive either. This book is packed with useful data in a well organized fashion. So if you are like me and you enjoy having a nice strategy guide book then I would recommend getting this one. Review: I love this guide! - Okay, I played Ocarina of Time when it was on 64 and LOVED it, as most people did. I still feel like it was the best Zelda game. When I got my 3DS I wanted to get it first thing. There are a few (very few) different things but it is pretty much the same game. I played the 64 version for hours and found almost everything in the game without the guide, so most of the time I don't need or use the guide, but it is a great guide. The maps are vivid and clear. The hints are helpful and it will help you find all those little extras that would take hours to find on your own. I never found every gold skulltula on the 64 version, so I am thankful to have a guide that tells me where they are. The guide is beautiful with great pictures and heavy pages. I love it. If you are a fan of the game or want to find and do it all then this guide is a must have. I have no complaints.

great guide to the best game ever made
very detailed, would be very helpful to a first time player. The guide is also a great help for those who can play the game by memory, but still need that last bit of help to 100% the game.

Helpful Guide to a very enjoyable game
So you have never purchased one of those computer game guides. I know, you say those books are for amateurs and softies who can't figure out things for themselves. Real gamers don't need to be told what lever to push or goon to crush to receive the next magic pellet - they should be able to figure it out all by their lonesome. Well, there is some validity to that POV and I will not try to convince you otherwise. For the rest of us who may enjoy a particular game a well-illustrated guide complements the pleasure of playing. Having read many Zelda/Link guides very carefully I am aware that there are many aspects to those games that are not apparent- in fact unless you were informed you would completely miss out on some very cool aspects of the game. My time is limited so my interest here is more with collecting the Zelda/Link games and guidebooks. I like the continuity of the game franchise, the creativity of the game play and the high quality of the artwork both in the games and the guidebooks. The "Ocarina of Time" guide keeps the high standards of other Zelda/Link books and will enhance your game play.

Excellent guide for the Legend of Zelda fan
I have been a Legend of Zelda fan since day one. I'm sure there are many of you out there that bought the newest Nintendo gaming system when it came out just because the newest 'Zelda' game was included. Don't deny it! I know you're out there! Gold cartridge fans unite! *wink* Anyway, this guide is just another perfect accompanyment to the latest (and I would have said 'greatest' except that there's no 3DS rumble pack) installment of the legendary Ocarina of Time. I found that the guide is sometimes 'vague' about the clues but after all this is an adventure after all. You have to do some work sometime. But if you want to get all the heart containers and skulltulas and bean planting spots and etc., this is the way to go. Great job!

A Handy-handbook
Just as described and for less than ten bucks at the time of purchase. The used-look to it was actually charming. Looked like the book of ages waiting to be opened again for the hero of time -haha. I got it for practical use. My five-year-old needs it to beat the game. So I gave him exactly what he needed. Lots of pictures. Makes him curious about things. I had a guide like this back then and it felt right to give him one just like I had. The book is light and small. A handy-handbook. Thanks for this. I am pleased with my purchase.

A good book for getting you through the game... A bad one if you want to get everything.
This book is mostly able to do what it claims. It will hold your hand through the adventure, and technically includes everything it says it does. However, this guide is lacking in some ways from what it could be. I never read the original guide to the N64 classic, but while some of the easter eggs in the game are mentioned as you read, not all are, and you can easily miss certain items. I have already beaten this game, and I was trying to play through at 100%. I bought the guide specifically for the purpose of getting that 100%, but when I reached a certain point in the guide, the writer comments that I should have collected 50 of the Gold Skulltullas; in fact, I only had 30. Without a dedicated list in the main body of the text, I had missed many... Near the end of the Main Quest guide, I found that there was a checklist for these items- a checklist organized by area, rather than finding order. In the end, I decided to wait and try to 100% the Master Quest, which is also included in the guide, since I was so far along and could not figure out which tokens I did have versus which I did not. While this does not inherently irk me, isn't the point of the guide to help you do these things on the first try? In that respect, this player's guide failed. I have used many such guides in the past and never encountered this problem, which is why I only give the book at 3/5. Also, one minor note- the page numbers are in the middle of the pages, surrounded by flowery patterns. While this is another "adjustment" thing, why would the publishers feel the need to embellish something as inconsequential as page numbers? ...The guide does its basic job, getting you through the game, but if you're trying to get through in style, you'll have to either know what you're doing before you start or go online for the same information.

unexplainably great, but unessisary
This is great for people who are not that good at adventure games, but the ledged of Zelda ocarina of time 3d is relatively straight forward, but if you want a completely finished game, like all heart pieces, or all 100 golden skullitula tokens, or a guide to the trading route, or anything else you can think of. It even has a masterquest walkthrough, along with the normal one. This is a great guide, I was in the forest temple when I got this, and it helped me get every single treasure and extra in it. I think it's more fun to go through without help though. Not really necessary, but a great guide if you want one.

Wichtige Dinge fehlen
Ein Lรถsungsbuch sollte eigentlich Lรถsungen fรผr alles im Spiel beinhalten. Leider fehlen essentielle Dinge wie z.B. wie รถffne ich welches Versteck.
