Review: Every bit as good as you think - Not as heavy as I feared. Totally surprising that water/sauces boiled noticably faster! I attributed this to greater conductivity efficiency. I believe one has to accept that stainless steel pans will attain a 'patina' with use. Internally, the only way (I believe) you can keep the appearance pristine is not to use it... There are salt residue-like marks even when the pan is glass smooth inside. I would have preferred 'bar' handles vs 'button' on the lids, as they are easier to drop when really hot...?

**Q: Can you use metal utensils?**
A: I’m sure you “can”, but why would you if you can use a wood or plastic stirrer that won’t scratch the stainless steel?

**Q: Is the D5 discontinued ?**
A: All Clad has not discontinued the D5 line. The line is still listed on the All-Clad website. I believe the person above mistankingly thought D5 is discontinued when it's actually the G5 Graphite Core that's discontinued.

**Q: Thinking of getting this especially for candy making. Has anyone used this pan for peanut brittle and caramel making?**
A: Yes use it for everything it’s a very good pan

**Q: Does the lid that comes with the 3qt pan also fit on the 10" skillet?**
A: It will not fit, at least based on the utensils I have.
