Wonderful picture quality in ‘Cinema’ mode in a dark room. Sub-satisfactory brightens in lit room. And major red artifacts appear in dark scenes when using ‘Bright’ mode. Fan noise is acceptable. Setup is effortless. I paid less than $600 for mine this year (2020). It appears the price has nearly doubled. If I were shopping now I’d probably go with the more affordable Epson rather than pay more than $600 for the BenQ I have now.

I purchased this BenQ 2050a for my media room. It has one window that I use a blackout curtain for and my room is near complete darkness. This projector, a Amazon refurbished unit is amazing. The picture quality is wonderful and I am shocked at the audio this projector puts out. I’d run surround sound or at least a sound bar but if you have to wait to do that, sound will do just fine.

Great high definition projector at a great price. Set up was straight forward, controls are intuitive, picture is great! Remote died after a small amount of usage, customer support directed me to their website to buy another. That was nice.

Love this projector. Low latency is perfect for PlayStation gaming. Digital keystoning and lens shift are a game changer for people with difficult living rooms. Obviously not the best for high ambient light conditions, projectors cannot “shine” black.

Amazon, you really need to check the product with what's actually on there. I'm looking to a projector with a 3D sync port, and this one advertises it has one... however, upon research, this projector does NOT have the VESA 3D sync port. BenQ doesn't even have it listed on its site that it has one.

Bought certified renewed and everything looked fine, picture quality and everything was all as expected, but unfortunately I could not get any remotes to communicate with the projector. I did some troubleshooting on BenQ’s site, but none of it resolved the issue. I suspect a faulty IR receiver. Unfortunately, I’m sending it back and just going to buy a new one of the same model I nstead of refurbished. I have had terrible luck with my projector search… so I’m just ready to be done.

Huge upgrade from the off brand projector that I bought last year, the picture and color quality is amazing I wanted to buy this one last year but was being cheap lol glad I doubled back it’s worth it and easy to setup

This is my 3rd BenQ and I love them. I don't know anything better at this price point.
