Aquatic Arts 1 Black Devil Snail (Faunus ater) - 1 to 3 inches Long - Eating and Safe for Fish, Live Aquarium Plants, and Shrimp

I bought a few of these guys, and none of them lived very long. They were alive on arrival, and I acclimated as directed but after a week or two they all passed away. None of them were very active, even though I have a decent amount of clear area in my tanks for them to move around. Very pretty, and I'm quite sad none of them made it.

Bigger than I thought it'd be, but very cool. It was active within a minute or two after putting him in the tank. Packaged well and it arrived A LOT earlier than I was expecting. So far I'm really impressed. I'll update to 5 stars in a few days depending on how the snail does.

I got 2 of these sweeties a few months ago and I LOVE THEM!! They not only eat some algae and leftovers but they EAT BETTA POOP! Well mine are anyways. I have 2 in with my male butterfly betta and they have shorter tentacles so it's not as easy for a nippy fish to nip at them as it is for other snails. If they do get nipped though, I would recommend moving them because they will become shy and not as active if they feel threatened. They are so very interesting to watch as they move around their shells. They seem SO strong! We love ours.

Gary has become a part of my home. get off of work and come looking for him in the evenings. I have him in a 5 gallon tank with 5 Neon Tetra and everything is perfect. Seller provide perfect instruction on how to introduce him to the tank and he's been good since. Might have to get another one though because he seems to let Algae build up too much for my likes before he cleans "eats" it but other than that perfect addition.

Black Devil Snails came in well packed in an insulated box with a heat pack, and are healthy. Seller sent me two instead of just one. They are surprisingly active, and are usually out and about on the walls of the aquarium. The seem to burrow or hide much less than the Mystery Snails I also got. I will definitely be ordering from Aquatic Arts/InvertObsession again soon.

I like the seller, but the product poops a lot... I hope he eats his own poop?

The snails are ridiculously tiny. The body is not black but unevenly brownish. I just think the seller should have specified how small they arrive.The package however arrived on time and the snails seem alive.
