A winner for many reasons
I have been consuming quest bars since 2010. They have proven to be reliable over the years and for that I am grateful. They are convenient to have when I have to eat during my commute or in-between meetings at work, or when I am traveling. They also don't melt (unlike some others that have a coating on the outside) so you can throw them in your bag or the suitcase without worrying about the temperature. I have tried protein bars from many other brands and companies. The quest bar has the best macros if you are optimizing for protein with minimal carbs, and the ingredients are clean. I have tried most of their flavors and the double chocolate chunk is my favorite. If you are very sensitive to artificial sweeteners or any of the ingredients, your palate might not like these, so check the ingredients and the nutrition label before you buy, or try a bunch of the flavors because some might taste better than others for you. There is quite a bit of variability in texture and taste across these, which I think is a strength of these bars because that makes them available to a wider range of consumers with different preferences. Also, the price is comparatively better especially given these are the biggest in size compared to most other brands. I am yet to find another protein bar that exceeds all of these criteria.

Chocolatey and chewy.
NOTE: This is the second of three flavors that I have tried. The review is relatively the same with adjustments made for flavor.I work out 4-5 days per week and often struggle with getting enough protein in my diet. These bars were highly recommended and have turned out to be quite helpful. I have tried several varieties , and these truly taste like a dense chocolatey, chewy brownie. They are overall delicious, but there is a hint of an aftertaste. Of the three varieties I have tried, these are ranked #3 simply because nothing can replace the taste and texture of a good quality chocolate. Eaten with a glass of milk the bars are quite filling; I always feel as if I have had a special treat! I often use them as an afternoon or evening snack and take them with me when I travel. Actually I keep one or two in my car just in case. They are convenient, individually wrapped, and quick and easy. Increasing other sources of protein in my diet, snacking on these bars, and continuing my workout regimen, my muscle mass has continued to develop along with improvement in my strength and stamina (I am over 70 years old). One thing alone has not been responsible, but the overall increase in the amount of protein in my diet has been aided by the addition of these protein bars. The only problem I have with them is keeping my non-exercising husband from eating them! Give them a try; I don't think you will be disappointed.Top 3 Likes:-Excellent source of protein and a yummy snack-Great taste and texture-Individually wrapped to go anywhere any timeTop 3 Dislikes:-No dislikes for these treats!

Two letter grades above the next best!
Quest has many good flavors but I find the Double Chocolate Chunk to be the best. It tastes like a very hearty chocolate chip cookie. Quest Bar are the indisputable #1 name in protein bars. Don't even pretend there's another competitor on the market, Quest is two letter grades above the next best bar. Trust me, I know this because for months I tried dang near every bar out there before even discovering Quest! Wasted time, wasted money, but it's given me a very good perspective on the overall protein bar market. Most protein bars are too many calories for too little protein. My general rule is anything less than 1 gram of protein for every 10 calories is not worth it. That'd be 200 calories for your basic 20g bar. So most brands are out right from the start. Balance Bar, Cliff, Atkins, these brands are of little use.Besides Quest, you're going to want to be looking at two brands: Pure Protein and Met-Rx. Pure Protein's Double Chocolate Deluxe flavor is 21 grams of protein for 180 calories, that's about as good as you're going to find. Met-Rx produces some highly efficient bars such as their Protein Plus brand Chocolate Roasted Peanut which is 32 grams of protein for 310 calories. Of course, you're going to want to be careful with that many calories, even if it is a lot of protein. There are, however, three highly notable reasons why Quest Nutrition's bars are decisively better than anything Pure Protein or Met-Rx produce. First of all, Quest Bars are the best tasting bars on the market, period. I don't know how they do it but these bars taste almost like real food. Compare that to the over-processed taste of most protein bars and you're sure to adore Quest. Secondly, Quest is nearly the only bar on the market to forgo "sugar alcohols." These are an ingredient that can cause major stomach pains! Check the label on your bars, many of them even contain a warning message because these sugar alcohols can and do cause problems. Thirdly, Quest is, calorie for calorie, the most efficient bar on the market. Their best 4 brands with 20 grams of protein and 160 calories are the top efficiency I've found out of any protein bar. It's worthy of noting that Quest Nutrition is in the midst of a class action lawsuit at the moment. It has not gone to court yet so take these allegations with a grain of salt. But they are accused of mislabeling the nutritional information in two areas:1 -- It is said they do not have anywhere near as much as fiber as advertised -- which, frankly, would be a good thing! Each Quest bar is listed as having nearly 70% of our daily recommended fiber, and I eat 3 or 4 of these things a day! That's an awful lot of fiber.2 -- It is said they have understated the calorie count by 20%.While this potential hiccup is worrying, it's important to note that even if this IS true (which has not been proven), Quest are STILL the best protein bars on the market! Make sure you stick to the lowest calorie Quest bars which are the following:Double Chocolate ChunkChocolate Peanut Butter (not to be confused with Peanut Butter Supreme!)Strawberry CheesecakeLemon Cream PieThese 4 bars are 160 calories each, which even at a potential 20% increase will be 200 calories. 200 calories isn't the #1 lowest on the market but these bars taste much, much better than any other bar so those few extra calories would be worth it, that's IF the allegations are even true, which have absolutely not been proven.

Good condition
The Protein bars are fine. Not the tastiest bars in the world, but I’ve had them before so I knew that ahead of time. They have good Macro, fine ingredients, not Soy Protein like some of the other flavors, and are tasty enough.5 Stars is for the condition they came in. They were fresh and chewy. Some reviews scared me off a little bit with rock hard or moldy bars. Mine were as fresh as could be.

Tasty protein bar
I have tried a few different protein bars and I can tolerate most of them. This one, I love it. It has replaced desserts in many of my meals. It’s tasty, and gives 20 gm protein with no added sugar and low carb. Amazing combination
