Works perfectly on a 1996 Chevrolet C1500 5.7L Vortec engine.
Exact replacement for the existing sensor on my 1996 Chevrolet C1500 5.7L Vortec engine. You will need to also buy the Lisle 13250 sensor socket to change it. Buy that socket and not the Chinese socket Amazon says will work! Ask me how I know! The socket makes an almost impossible task into a simply difficult one! Check out YouTube videos before you tackle this job!

Can't Cheap Out On This Part
I don't write reviews but I am happy with this part. Yes it is expensive but you don't want to tear apart your engine compartment more then once. I was getting 0 Psi readings after a long drive, from my original cheap replacement. The knockoff sensor was good until it wasn't, plus you need an accurate reading. It was easy to install, and now I can trust the reading on my dash.

OEM quality, fit and finish.
Much better part than the aftermarket item I purchased previously. I confirmed the pressure reading against a mechanical meter and it is accurate.

Don’t go cheap on this!
These 3 wire oil pressure switches are critical since they work in conjunction with the fuel pump. Without it the fuel pump relay handles all the fuel pump current which it’s not designed to do. When I got my truck I found that someone put a 1 wire sensor in place of the 3 wire. Fine for the gauge but not the pump. I went to a local auto parts store that I won’t mention by name but it starts with auto and ends with zone. Payed the same amount here for their brand which is just the same cheap junk in a red box. The oil gauge read between 0 and 10psi with the check gauges light on constantly. A manual gauge showed a very healthy 45psi at idle at 200k miles (the 4.3l is one of the best engines ever made). Replaced it with this ac delco sensor and all is good. Take it from a mechanic with 20 years under his belt, you can go cheap on some parts but this isn’t one of them.

Great product. Was doing some work on my engine and broke the original OPS while taking it out. replaced it with what our local shop had in a standard brand. showed low oil pressure at start up an high RPMs. knowing this wasn't accurate I ordered the ACdelco, installed it an viola !!!!! everything back to normal .

This review is specifically on the >> ACDelco 19244500 GM Original Equipment Engine Oil Pressure Sensor. I tend to trust OEM Parts. I tested the old part and compared to this new one. There was/is a remarkable smoother operation and I'm happy with the new sensor. If you find that your gauge tends to fluctuate, stick or be jittery, I suggest that you replace your sensor!
