I bought the package of 3 books and I highly recommend you do the same. These 3 books have been a staple in my animal communication studies. Penelope shares real stories to show us what is possible and what we are truly capable of. Animal communication is changing my life, and I am grateful for these books to help me begin this journey!!!

Even if you don't believe in animals' comunication,in which I do, it is a wonderful book who gives you an insight on animals and nature in general. Very well written and I have already had results with my four cats. Though not with all of them but this is very understanding,I am at the beginning of this beautiful adventure and surely making mistakes. I f you owns pets and want to love them even more by understanding their love for you please read this book.It will reveal you a new enchanting world,better than ours,because animal are so much more good than us.They are our teachers and we have a lot to learn from them.Read this book slowly understanding its meaning and soon you will be in the position to proceed on this beautiful path of knowledge.

Penelope Smith is the #1 Animal Communicator, and afternoon reading her book you’ll see why. She shares with you what YOU need to do to be prepared for communication, and is very thorough. Her writing is interesting and so informative, but never dry or boring!! You will be amazed at all you learn from this book! Highly recommend!

I read this book, because an interspecies intuitive recommended it, after I had to hired her services to improve my communication with a newly adopted cat. I think the topic is very interesting, but sometimes is too much about the same, for example, the part of the death pets. It would have been good that she could share short meditations for pets and their humans for starting the connection.

I think this is a good manifesto by Penelope Smith and good intro for her book ‘Animal Talk’. Next I want to read her ‘Animals in Spirit’(after first rereading ‘Animal Talk’). Wow! Still resonates beautifully almost 30 years later!

I had high hopes when i bought this book as i am an animal communicator and i wanted to know more about others. To my dismay I found delusional ideas justifying egotistic choices and incredible neglect in animals health. Energy work and healing herbs INSTEAD of proper veterinary care? Cows agreeing to be eaten? I wonder if penelope would agree to such a thing herself! The ideas are outdated, anthropocentric and ridiculous on many occasions. On top of that it's only a recount of Penélope's experiences and delusional ideas that justify poor choices. No techniques whatsoever. Very disappointed indeed.

Originally published in 1993, "When Animals Speak" has had a total of 4 publication runs. In 1993 it probably was ground breaking and with 4 publication runs, it's had it's share of momentum and popularity. But now in 2017 it feels dated and simple. Smith's writing style is stilted, at times condescending and she's quite melodramatic in her story telling. I read the whole book and was surprised at the entirety of the title: "When Animals Speak, Techniques for Bonding with Animal Companions". I missed the techniques part totally. Smith just tells a lot of stories about her encounters with other species. I have no doubt Smith is an accomplished Animal Communicator and if you are completely new to the concept of animal communication and have never spent time with animals or pets, then this book might be for you. I only finished it because it was required reading for a course I was taking and that was challenging.
