Stormguard Around Loft Attic Hatch Door Draught Excluder Seal Strip Weather Proofing Insulation. (4 x 1028mm, White)

Since I moved into my house last year it has always been cold by the front door. A builder friend said "Its probably a draft from your loft hatch"I had previously ruled this out as it already had a draft seal around it but on a (much) closer look the old draft seal was not fitting tight or sealing so I changed it over and made a much better seal and now no more cold hallway.I took 1 star off for the lack of instructions for those not diy savvy but it is very easy to measure cut and fit, u only need 20mins, a measuring tape, hacksaw & a hammer

This doesn't have any instructions, but I managed to figure it out as a person with limited DIY experience. The strips are P shaped and the top of the P is soft rubber which sits against the actual hatch. The straight bit of the P is hard plastic and sits against the surround and has holes in. Lots of tack nails are provided. Seems to work well to form a good seal.Points of note:3 out of 4 of my strips were not straight; in the soft rubber bit and/or the hard plastic bit. I worked around that by planning to cut my pieces to discard the slightly bent sections. It's not a huge bend, but enough that it would irritate me.I also planned to cut my pieces to give myself 4 holes on each section and so my nails were evenly placed along the strips.

Easy to fix, stops the draft from coming in. Would recommend.

I was unable to cut with scissors, fortunately I have a hacksaw which I had to use, if someone can cut this with scissors I'd be amazed.The strips are well made but the reason for the 3 stars really is about not being able to cut with scissors and the packaging not the product itself ehich is robust. The strips come sellotaped together in 5 different places, once this is removed it leaves a sticky residue which is hard to remove, I had to use a white spirit in the end as the residue picks up everything when installing and looks terrible.The product is good, my tip would be to leave the hatch down and install, this way you can ensure a tight fit by just lifting the hatch enough for the rubber lip to slip under then nail in the sides, this gives a very good fit.... especially good if your hatch like mine was not perfectly square.

It was promptly sent and well packaged it worked as it should and was easy to fit.
