This black sugar hard candy is the best. Always packed properly, prompt delivery, always fresh, and always delicious.

Very Unique, Vary good.
These are really enjoyable because they taste like a few different things at once. They have a very deep caramel taste which also hinges on butterscotch as well as molasses and even coffee.

Okay, but not quite what I expected.
If it was a bit sweeter, I would have rather liked it, but as it is, not to my liking. First you get hit with the taste of burnt sugar, then as you get accustomed to that, you get molasses. I was expecting more of a brown sugar taste instead. Still, even if it's not to my liking, it's not as bad as other candy I've bought off amazon.

Ok but why the cancer warning sticker???
They are a bit different than the Korean ones I got, these are more Molassessy or Umami. Plus there is a cancer warning sticker….. so if I’m ok next check up i may stock up in these again.

not exactly the same as hoped but still good molasses sugar flavor
Got this for a friend who bought candy in Okinawa (hitokuchi kokuto) & cannot find it here. This isn't exactly the same (kuro ame) and not made by the same company (he saved the label from Japan). But both are made of 'black sugar' so it was worth trying. He said it isn't quite the same. The one he loves appears to be cut up squares of sugar that are not as hard as this (but harder than the baking type of black sugar). He did like it though. Same good molasses sugar. Also, he likes that this harder candy takes longer to eat one (since it is harder candy) so he east fewer of them. LOL.But, alas, it isn't the same as his 'favorite.'So, based on his feedback, this gets high marks but not all 5 stars.Oh, and, yes the shipping takes a couple of weeks (they give you a crazy big span of time 'sometime between May 2-24') but it came ~1 week earlier than May 24. No complaints as this was expected.
