It removes dirt and loose blackhead from face. The crap that came out of my nose was insane. I've always had a huge problem with blackheads, especially on my nose!!!! My husband used it as well and it actually bruised his nose slightly and not 'a lot' came out, but I think that's only because he didn't steam his face long enough to open his pores. It does take some getting used to but seems to work. It comes with 1 blackhead machine and 4 cosmetology heads and some filters to replace which are very handy.It would have been useful if there was a light indicator showing how high/low the setting is rather than working out yourself. It has same button to start/stop and changing the setting (high/low) so it took me a while to turn it off as I kept on pressing the start/stop button and hoped it would turn off, but it kept on changing the setting instead of turning it off.
