This is a great book. I have a zero bullying policy in class. These books help me to explain what that actually means. Children don't really understand these big terms and need instruction that they can comprehend. This puts the problems in terms they can understand. I strongly recommend it.

Good Book, my daughter made me buy every one for her and she reads them to me before bed. The lessons in these books should be mandatory reading for adults when they turn 21, it would make the world a more friendly place.

Kids Like It, Kinda Dated in Bully Handling
Both my kids love Berenstain Bears books as I did when I was a kid. This one is ok, kinda dated in terms of how to handle a bully, but it is an old story. Sister is bullied by Tuffy, so Brother teachers her on a bean bag how to box basically. When Tuffy confronts her and they get in a fight, Sister basically bops her in the nose, and they get in trouble. At the end they learn that talking is better than being physical. Nowadays, it would be better to talk it out, but this was a springboard to a conversation about being able to defend yourself, but handling it by talking instead.

Talking about Bullies.
The Berenstain Bears books have always helped my children with life. My children are grown now,but todays children have to deal with so much. Sometimes books just don't show us others, but sometimes our selfs.

Gift for son
I grew up on these books and wanted to pass that tradition on to my son and he loves them. He will often ask me to read them to him.

Censored and a really weird ending
This book appears to be censored. The original edition indicates that the bully character gets bullied (physically abused) at home, and that’s why she lashes out at other kids. This new edition glosses over that completely and just says the bully will be “in a lot of trouble”.The ending concludes that even though Sister learned to physically defend herself against the bully through dodging and blocking tactics, she learned it was far better for her parents and the bully’s parents to talk it out. There are absolutely no scenes demonstrating how this is better, so the ending doesn’t make sense at all.Meanwhile, the gender stereotypes (Brother is surprised the bully is a girl, Brother couldn’t possibly hit a girl) are alive and well.Whoever is censoring the Berenstain Bears books in 2024 is doing a lousy job of it. I noticed changes have been made to the Too Mich Junk Food title too, with no update to the copyright page. I hate it when publishers do this.I bought this title because my daughter really did have a school bully who kept punching her and kicking her all year, despite my raising concerns with the school. I wanted her to know she wasn’t alone and that there may be a good story to guide her. This story didn’t do that…

Important and well written life lesson written in such a way children will understand
Great story line and valuable lessons learned about anti-bullying. Cannot start this message with kids too young about the affects of bullying on children.

My eight year old can read this on her own and read it to her younger siblings. The pressure is off me to read to them at bedtime.
