Spirit Fitness XBR25 Recumbent Bike

Comfortable, sturdy bike that you will want to keep using. The seat padding is firm, yet still gives enough to be comfortable. I easily feel good with hour long routines. I like the different types of programs that are available i.e. cardio, fat burn, intermittent, hill climb, ect. Overall, I actually want to use this bike to get in shape. Now for the bad. The only problem I've had so far was with the assembly instructions. The pictures are too small and crammed with detail that it's easy to make a mistake if you don't read and re-read the instructions twice. Also, there were only 4 steps but those steps easily could have been expanded to 8 steps with better diagrams, for increased clarity. But, overall, anyone can assemble this bike, if you take your time and don't rush. On a side note, I got more of a workout getting the bike parts out of the box and cleaning up the cardboard and packing styrofoam than my first bike ride.

I was hesitant to buy this bike because of my weight. I weigh 320 pounds so I didn't think this bike could hold up to constant use. In this case I was VERY wrong. This bike is just as sturdy as any bike you would find in a fitness center. The Spirit bike is MORE sturdy, comfortable and quiet than a much more expensive bike like a Life Fitness or Precor model. I've been going to gyms for about 40 years so I consider myself well informed about exercise products. I can't speak to how hard it is to assemble since I paid someone to do it for me and believe me it's worth splurging the extra $100 for assembly. The Spirit bike also has a 5 year warranty. If Amazon doesn't offer assembly do a Google search for this bike and you will find other companies that will ship and assemble the bike for you.

I have owned this recumbent bike for four years and it gets daily use..I bought it from a local fitness equipment retail store. It is very comfortable and has a smooth ride. I am very grateful that it comes with an excellent warranty because it has needed to be repaired three times -- the wheel mechanism was malfunctioning and needed to be replaced. It is a hassle because you have to schedule the service.. Once my warranty is up in a few more years it will no longer be cost effective to keep it going. I still really like this bike because of the ride quality, so this is something a potential buyer would have to weigh.

This is an outstanding piece of cardio equipment! The seat is very comfortable, the ride is stable and smooth, and the programs are easy to use. The bike also comes with a serious warrenty: lifetime on the brake, lifetime on the frame, and 5 years on parts. All in all, this is a solid, gym-quality bike for home use. Yes, it's a bit pricey but it's definitely a "cut above" the recembents I've owned (3 to date) or tried (dozens).
