I've used this bag as a personal item on a number of US and international airlines, and it easily fit under the seat on all of them. It's big enough for onboard essentials and valuables, and can double as a large handbag/work bag if needed. Held my tablet easily, but wouldn't fit a larger laptop. The smaller of the outside pockets is perfect for a cell phone. The slash proof and zipper locking features make the bag more secure. (The cell phone pocket doesn't lock, but the others do.) It is durable and easy to wipe clean with a damp cloth when needed. Looks great after being dragged through multiple countries. Definitely recommend.

Perfect size to use as large purse/ personal item to carry on plane! I fill it with the items I want easy access to as I travel and slide it under the seat in front of me. Then I still can take on a backpack or carry on. Typically it holds my wallet, passport, travel chargers, book, ear buds and/or headphones, meds, gum, and small travel jewelry case with a little room leftover. Lots of pockets and latches to protect your things. Strap is adjustable. It’s perfect.

I did end up returning this bag - but not because anything was wrong with it - my reason was purely the size of the bag. I was looking for something that could act as a personal item for an upcoming trip to England, and at least one of our flights will be on British Airways, who have a notorious personal item size requirement. Unfortunately, this bag, while being slightly under the size requirements, was just a little too small for what I needed. That being said, it's an excellent bag. If I didn't already have a purse of a similar size, I would have kept this to use as a work bag. The material is very thick, and while the bag isn't necessarily heavy, it does have some weight to it and is able to stand upright on its own. It definitely appears very durable. I also appreciate that it doesn't have a padded sleeve. I don't carry around a laptop or a tablet, so those sleeves are usually a waste of space for me. There is one larger inside pocket along the wall of the bag that would be large enough for my e-reader and a few cords, and I wouldn't feel as if it's taking too much room from the main compartment. I also love the zipper on the exterior bottle sleeve. It makes the pocket smaller when not in use. The front zippered pocket being the width of the bag is also a plus, and the small exterior pocket above it would be perfect for a passport or phone. Overall, it's a very functional, organized bag, but I just wish it wasn't so narrow.

I was impressed by the materials, construction & look of the bag. I really liked it & wanted to keep it but I was looking for a small dog carrier & it was just a little too small. I do recommend it as a small, travel bag. UPDATE: I ended up buying it again. I love the sleek lines, neutral color, material, safety features, number, location & size of pockets. I use it as my personal travel bag. So happy I bought it!!

After 2 disappointing tries to find a Travelon travel bag and sending both back, this one works. Secure clips, no cost cutting measures like the last two. Seems durable, comfortable and functional. Lockable zippers, RFID pouch, mesh and good removable strap length. Heavy, easy to access all compartments and durable. Has a back strap, to fit over a roll on suitcase handle for airport transport. This is a heavy bag, even empty. If you are looking for light weight, this is not for you.

Perfect for a long haul flight. The amount of stuff that fits in here is really impressive. It held all of my essentials for flying-comfort, and fit easily under the seat even on the smallest of European airlines. The bag itself is lightweight and easy to wear crossbody while wearing a backpack.

I like the fact that the bag has clips on the outside zippers to make it more difficult for pickpockets, but one of the inside pocket zippers broke after using it less than one month (and only using it for one airplane trip plus a couple of weekends). Of course the return window is closed. Make sure you zip/unzip the inside pockets several times when you receive the bag. It is still usable as long as the main zipper works. Also the bag is a little smaller than other day-trip/ weekender bags, which is ok for me because it is easier to carry and it is big enough for my purposes. I like the strap on the side to attach over the roller bag handle.

I ordered this specifically to use as a "personal item" bag for flights on United and Lufthansa. Lufthansa has just about the strictest size requirements for personal items bags and it was hard to find something that fit their size! This worked well for me, I was able to carry extra undies just in case, it fit everything I needed to make my 9 hour flight comfortable and be easily accessible. With that being said, Lufthansa's size restriction is silly - there was plenty of room under the seat for a larger item and in fact, several people had much larger "personal item" bags and nothing was said. I just figured I would be the one to get pulled aside - LOL - but it never happened. While I wish I could have brought a bigger bag this worked perfectly anyway and now I now the airlines are quite as strict as some like to make us think! The bag is well made, the anti-theft options are easy to use and very secure and provide nice peace of mind.

This is my 4th travelon bag. Being a superior quality is non-debatable. Functionality is perfect. But this time I am disappointed because it lacks 1 inclusion which is the sling. It's very imprtant for this purchase but maybe they put this in sale because of this. They should have given this info so I will get another color (even not prefered) on a regular price maybe it has all the inclusions.
