We travelled to London and Paris for two weeks and didn't remove my belt through the metal detector - didn't have to - it's plastic! So this is an added benefit for any travelers. I'd have to say that this is my favorite belt, ever. For anybody who does any kind of physical activity in jeans - this is the one to get - but for the casual wearers, enjoy a lightweight belt that holds well.
