Every year around this time I have the same realization. It goes something like: “Wow, I am glowing… like printer paper.” I’m naturally pretty fair, and since I work from home and edit videos like a little cave goblin most days, the sun and I are not exactly best friends. I wanted a tiny bit of color without committing to a full self-tan ritual that involves mitts, exfoliating schedules, and praying I don’t look like a streaky pumpkin. Enter this Jergens Natural Glow +Firming lotion. I grabbed it because I wanted something lazy-girl simple. Like… slap it on after a shower and go live my life simple. And honestly? That’s exactly what this is. The first night I used it, I treated it like regular lotion. No ceremony. Just rubbed it in while watching YouTube and went to bed. No weird sticky feeling, no “don’t sit on anything white for 6 hours” panic. It dries like a normal moisturizer, which already puts it ahead of a lot of self tanners I’ve tried. By day two or three, I started noticing that “wait… did I go outside?” glow. Nothing dramatic. No fake tan line energy. Just a soft, believable warmth to my skin like I’d been on a weekend walk instead of glued to my desk chair. It builds slowly, which I actually prefer. You’re not waking up shocked at a new shade of yourself. It’s more like your skin quietly levels up overnight. The lotion itself feels nice too. Not greasy, not heavy. Just a solid everyday moisturizer. My legs especially felt smoother and less dry, which is a win even without the tan. Now about the “firming/cellulite” claims. I’m realistic. No lotion is out here performing wizardry. But I will say my skin looks a little smoother and more even overall. Maybe it’s the hydration, maybe it’s the subtle color helping blur things out. Either way, I’ll take it. The scent is light and clean. Not that classic self-tanner smell that sneaks up on you halfway through the day. Nobody at the grocery store is going to clock you as “recently marinated.” If there’s any catch, it’s just that you have to be consistent. Skip a few days and the glow slowly fades. But that’s kind of the point with a gradual tanner. For around $10, it’s honestly such an easy, low-effort way to look a little more alive and a little less “indoor plant.” Final thoughts: If you want a deep vacation tan, this isn’t it. But if you want a subtle, healthy glow with zero drama and the bonus of good hydration, this stuff is a staple. It’s basically my “fake I go outside” lotion, and I mean that in the best way possible.

Jergens natural glow self tanning lotion does in fact give you a nice natural looking self tan, HOWEVER you need to take some precautionary step along the way to get there. Please learn from my mishaps so you do not look like cheetah. 1) and of upmost importance EXFOLIATE well! Use a loofah or a sugar or apricot scrub of some sort. If your skin looks like an alligator or an elephant you may need to use all products for several days before applying any self tanner or you will get ugly dark spots. 2) now that you are well exfoliated your dry skin is still lurking under the surface so be sure to moisturize those epically dry areas like your hands, elbows, heels, ankles, feet and if you spend anytime on your knees probably those as well (IDK girl this is a judgement free zone so you do you) with a nice thick moisturizing cream. Rub that in really well to make sure it has all been well absorbed. 3) you are now ready to finally apply the tanning lotion. No need to go hog wild, less is more here, make sure you rub it in well until it has been absorbed. Around those dry skin prone areas use it very sparingly and trust me it will still work with the other cream you have previously applied. Using too much of this cream in dry skin areas will give you ugly dark spots so pay attention sister! Don't get dressed to fast allow yourself some time to "air dry" before you put clothes on because if you rush this step you will get pale spots from the clothing rubbing. 4) and I recommend doing this while you are "air drying" go wash your hands really well with PLENTY of soap and water or hands will look like you have leprosy. Congratulations you have officially completed day one of the process! Now you will need to repeat steps 2 - 4 for another 2 to 4 days depending on how dark you want the tan to be. Once you have the color you want no need to apply more lotion, mine will normally last about a week and a half before it starts looking a little blotchy. When that happens I start over at step 1 and start it all over again. Make no mistake this product is a lot of work but when done correctly it is totally worth it. I have very pale skin and have never been able to get any sort of a tan, just a sunburn that peels and all I'm left with is more freckles on my pale skin. And don't even get me started on a tanning bed that was the second worst decision of my life; only outranked by my collage boyfriend. As far as the "Firming" claim on this product in my humble opinion it's complete and utter hog wash. I may give them the benefit of doubt since I'm 54 years old and the amount of firming my saggy body needs can not be bought from a bottle.

I am a golfer and a runner and most of the time I spend outside I have socks and shoes on. As a result, my feet are very very white. I needed to attend a wedding and wanted to wear sandals and this product was recommended to me. I followed the instructions and used it several days in a row to build more of a tan, and it worked beautifully. I was not orange, and the color was not streaky. Instead, it was a natural tan that blended with my skin and my legs. Most surprisingly, I have always hated the smell of Jergens lotion. I was going to suffer through it just to use this product because I needed it. I was delighted to find that this lotion smells very nice. I have not done further research to find out if Jergens changed their scent on everything, but this was not the “old lady“ scent I remembered from my youth.

This is hands down the best self-tan I’ve ever tried. It doesn’t leave that unpleasant self-tan smell on your body. It has a really gorgeous scent. It produces a really natural colour gradually over 3-4 days which means it’s streak free as it builds up gradually. I hope they keep producing this for a long time as I’ll be using it forever 🤩
