 This is one mighty little reel. I bought the TSSD 3000 model and paired it up with a 5 foot "Controller 1pc M Trolling 5'" rod by Quantum Zebco. It was a nice little rod for my 6 year old son to use his first time on the ocean because the rental rods on the boat were too big for him. I rigged him for smaller fish which is what he mostly caught all day. Then it happened.. An absolute fluke that gave this little mighty-moe a chance to prove itself. And prove itself it definitely did! This little reel stood strong against a formidable foe! My boy somehow hooked onto a 40lb Amberjack and the fight was on! It had a low gear ratio which made it a little easier for my little man to reel. The little rod stood strong too. Reminded me of one of those unbreakable combs.. They were (are) the perfect combo for a kid starting out on the ocean. Ultimately my son got tired and dear ol dad had to take over but our total fish fight time was about 25 minutes of pure battle and this little reel held up TOUGH! Everyone on the boat watched in amazement because we all thought this rod was going to give out.. But it didn't and now I have a feeling a few of the fishermen on the boat are going to pick one of these up for their kids. Once we got the fish onboard this little rod earned a name.. I jokingly kept saying the whole time I was fighting that fish what a challenge it was fighting such a giant using this little "toothpick".. Then after we got the beast onboard one of the crew called it the "Titan Toothpick". A name well earned and well deserved. And this reel got the job done. Even with a 40lb known fighting runner on the hook, my 6 year old was still able to reel it. Awesome reel! Period.

Ive never owned a bait caster before and didnt want to blow a bunch of money on a name brand if i cant get ot figured out. I had a friend det it up for me and show me how to cast it and im getting pretty good at it. My buddy who literally has thousands of dollars worth of catfish rod and reels says he likes it and wants to buy a couple. Im going to buy another one soon, i like having a "clicker" setting and it clicks pretty loud . Great bang for the buck.

For the money, I shouldn't complain. But, I bought this reel based on reviews. I have to wonder if many of the reviews were fabricated. This reel was nothing like the reviews I read. It's cheap (understood), and just not very well constructed. I went saltwater fishing with it one time and I'm glad it was only 3 -5 pound bottom fish. I don't believe this reel is capable of much. My advice - spend a little more and get something decent. I can't recommend this reel, even at its' low price.

This is a small reel, but it packs a punch. I was looking for something small to start fishing until I got some experience or decided I did like it. I am glad I got this one to start. I will use a second reel once I master this one. It has a click setting that makes enough noise. I have not gone fishing with it yet but have just tested it around the yard. So far, I am happy with what I got.

Ordered this for deep sea fishing. The price was GREAT. So far I have taken this out in the Gulf of Mexico three times and it performs very well. I have gotten 8 large red snapper with this reel and it performs as good as a much more expensive on. No rusting yet which is good.

gears seem to want to hang up an drag will not adjust i can tighten drag all the way down an its the same as if i didnt tighten it up at all.

Just received this reel and haven't used it yet. The drag seems good and the click is not crazy loud. The reel is a bit biggerThan expeded,but good size for stripper boat fishing and trolling. Gave it a four because it hasn't been tested yet.

The clicker button was off when it arrived, had to take it apart and glue an internal piece to fix it. Seems okay for price. Everything inside is cheap plastic
