Good box, mysterious feature
I bought several of this to install some outlets and a junction in my garage. I attached the mounting tab to a stud with #6 pan head screws.The quality seems fine and the material seems sturdy and durable. The dimensions and screw holes seem to be precise.There is one puzzling question. On the outer side opposite the side with the stud tab, there are two molded rails and a locking boss apparently intended for mounting something to the box or mounting the box to a bracket of some sort. Can anyone explain what is the purpose of the molded rails. I would be nice if there were some quick, snap in way for mounting the box.The rep at Home Depot said it was for mounting a low voltage telephone accessory of some sort. But I can't find any information on any such use.
