The local big box one can handle both threads and direct solder sweating connection. This is preferred by most contractors. This one that is sold here is not the preferred one for remodel. The water flow is good. It just takes more time to install and the ease of installation is not there since you have to thread the connections. The fit is good. It is not so much value for the money because the replacement of the valve cartridge almost cost as much as the entire valve. The size of the valve seems like a decent standard size.
