For Girls Like You: A Devotional for Tweens (For Girls Like You Collection)

My daughter loves this line of books! This is the second one we’ve read from this author. Very age appropriate. Beautifully written. I use it during our homeschool Bible study.

This is a lovely book that was written in very relatable language for children. I read it aloud taking turns with my 8 year old daughter at bedtime. The stories/devotions are age appropriate and at one page each, they are are the perfect length to read before bedtime to connect. Typically we read three entries per night, stopping to comment and discuss in between each. They sparked great conversations and I was able to clarify concepts and assuage concerns that I didn't realize my daughter was struggling with. Each devotion/story includes a relevant scripture verse embedded to explain or underscore the wisdom. At the end of each devotion there is a separate box with a one or two sentence "Dear God..." prayer which are perfect culminations and great for illustrating to a child how to pray, praise, and ask God for help in a natural way that encourages them to find/share their unique voice. The book is a wonderful tool for helping girls think about and find direction for things happening to them or what they observe happening in their world at school and with friends. I would have loved a book like this as a kid for the help and reassurance it offers, especially if I was able to discuss it with my mother or my friends.

Exactly what I was looking for... So many things of this nature are geared "too young" or approach topics that are "too mature" for my pre-teen. She is ten and certainly not a "baby" anymore, but doesn't have any interest in (thank goodness) many of the things that are appropriate for her fourteen year-old sister. I love the way this devotional is written and appreciate the fact that it is not too watered down in terms of content but is written in a way that is easy to understand and for her to process. This conservative Momma appreciates it and will certainly look to re-order more products from this author/company in the future.

My dear daughter is one month away from being 8 years old and she still likes only picture books. I began reading this to her (despite her pleas of wanting a picture book) and on the second devo she began remarking, "She's good. She's good, Momma, huh?" Then she began reading it on her own just because she wanted to. She's been through a lot in her short life so far and I think this book is already helping her. I love how the prayers at the end are prayed "in Jesus' name", I love how it helps her to see God as HER loving father, and I love how it helps her to abide in Him (and bear fruit).

Perfect for young girls

My girls in my Sunday School class really enjoyed this devotional book during class. I was able to find a devotion for each lesson and read afterwards. It is so hard finding material for tweens and this little book was perfect to share with them. Thank you for the material written for their level. I would recommend this as a personal devotion for any tween girl.

I am a mom of a 10 year old girl that is going into 5th grade! This devotional book is perfect for her age group. The topics are relevant and it is written in a way that this age group can easily relate. This is an awkward age and the author does a great job of taking the issues at their age level and helping us (as mother and daughter) discuss these issues in an open way. After reading it myself, I ordered 25 more to give away to friends in her class.

This devotional is one of the best I’ve read. I read it with my daughter and I always get blessed by it. Every tween should read this!

Creates a time to talk and relate the Bible to your daughters every day life situations and thoughts!

This is a lovely, current and age appropriate book to settle in and have some devotions with our daughter. We look forward to it every day, and whether we read our daily devotion in the morning to start of our day right or to read it together before bed...it gives us something to think about during the day. Keep making these books for families to connect and for girls to have a good place to think and ponder about God!
