Note, this is not a "super" durable dispenser, made of plastic. Turning the paddles completely can crush cereal to crumbs, found best to use a 1/4 to 1/3 turn back and forth works best to keep cereal intact. Rushing or forcing use, or unnecessary pressure can cause breakage of the unit. My grandkids like it and learned quickly how to use it properly (to keep from breaking it). **Q: how sealed it this? can bugs get into it?** A: No bugs can’t get in.there is a plastic seal that comes with the dispenser that goes in the bottom of it.
