This pedal is designed a little differently than the Boss pedal, but it shares a feature with the Boss pedal that the Hosa and Roland pedals don't: an external switch that allows you to go from "normally open/off" mode to "normally closed/on," so this single pedal will work with pretty much any piece of equipment/feature that requires a momentary pedal. It's quiet; the construction is very heavy duty ... steel bottom and top, with thick rubber non-skid material on both; it comes with a built-in cable, all at about half the cost of the Boss pedal.
