I included pictures so people could see how very speckled with white it is. It doesn't look like that on the website, but it is like they took white paint and splashed it all over. I think the photo looks like the metal is flat (like bands) but it is more thick, round in diameter (not sure if that makes sense). The finish is black but, while not weathered or rusted, it is a soft black and I think will look really pretty with grays/browns/wood etc that will be in our kitchen. They are also pretty big... we were going to use 3 over an island that will be about 45x95 and decided that two will be better.
