It works when used as directed with persistence and time.
There are multiple salicylic acid products available for wart treatment. Some are liquid, some pads or patches, some in a soft, solid, "chapstick-like" applicator. The problem with all of these products is keeping the active ingredient from losing contact with the wart, either through rubbing off or washing off with normal activities. The Bazuka formulation differs in a critically important way: It keeps the salicylic acid in close contact with the wart for 24 hours and longer. After you apply it, a coating forms over the wart that is resistant to normal contact, (e.g., with clothing or another body part like your fingers or other hand) and moisture - even normal hand washing. The other important advantage of this coating is to keep the wart virus covered so that it does not spread to other areas. These features are what sets Bazuka apart from other salicylic acid formulations and products.I found Bazuka to be the most effective wart treatment I've used, better than freezing products, better than duct tape, and far better than the other salicylic acid formulations. The key is to be consistent in daily or near-daily use and to follow the instructions for soaking in warm water to loosen the previous days coating on the warts, using the include emory board-like abrasive for removing as much of the surface coating as possible before applying a new Bazuka application on the warts. I have used this product on over 20 warts on my hands and feet - I am immunosuppressed, so prone to human papilloma virus growth - the cause warts. And though it took nearly three months and 3 tubes of Bazuka, I can say it actually works. It wears down, layer by layer, the warts. Apply to the warts, let it dry (takes at least 5 minutes to really dry in my experience), wait about 24 hours to soak in warm water to loosen the coating, let that skin dry, remove as much residual coating as possible, and apply new coating. Repeat daily. Be patient. I see the warts gradually become more superficial and smaller - you can see it - with continued use. My largest warts were 1-1.5 cm in size. They are gone.So in summary, I believe the effectiveness of this salicylic acid product is in the formulation that keeps it in continuous and better contact with the wart. It is also possible that one more components of the coating that adheres to the skin is also active against warts.

Getting great results (though not as quickly as I hoped)
I went through an entire round of OTC freezing removal method (instructions said to treat warts max of 3 times with freezing method), and the two warts on my hand didn't budge, they looked as if nothing had EVER happened to them. After reading mixed reviews on US based salicylic acid treatments (thought I'd try a different treatment approach as freezing clearly didn't work), I chose bazuka after reading the reviews. First off, I received the product so quickly! I got about 5 days after ordering, well before the anticipated arrival date 3 weeks out (being shipped from the UK). I was also pleased at the price, considering the long shipping distance and the $20 wasted on freezing method.I've used this product for about 3 1/2 weeks now and finally yesterday I was able to pull off the remaining wart/thickened skin. It's really easy to use, you don't need to squeeze the tube, just let a tiny drop or two come out and cover the wart. Wait two minutes for it to dry completely, it forms a sealant layer which helps keep the wart covered (to not spread) and treats it. It can burn if the liquid touches healthy skin, but a couple minutes of discomfort is totally worth it, and I got more precise as I got used to the applicator. You leave the treatment on for a full day before peeling off and reapplying. Sometimes I could peel off the white layer (oh, ya, it dries bright white) and other times I'd peel off a thick layer of wart skin along with it (I found a sharp pair of tweezers worked well for me to peel/scrape it off, and sometimes cut back the thickened skin-make sure to disinfect the tweezers though!). You don't need to cover the treatment, it's water proof, but because it's so white and obvious, I wear a bandaid over it when I'm out of the house. Last night the last layer of wart finally peeled off! I'm still applying treatment to make sure it's dead, and that I get the "root".Be patient, but give this a try. It worked SO MUCH BETTER than the US purchased OTC treatments. I actually have hope again that I can bare my hands without being self conscious and risk spreading the warts!

Yes! Wart medicine + superglue = success!
This worked! My child had a wart on a finger for 1.5 years. We tried the name brand and generic salicylic acid that you paint and drop on. The problem with these others types is that the medicine falls off. Even when covered by a bandaid. So then we tried the medicine included on the bandaids and we tried the sticky dots covered by bandaids. The sticky dots fell off with hand washing. The super sticky bandaids worked pretty well, but the spot of medicine was so big that it irritated the healthy surrounding skin so much that we would have to stop for a bit and the my child was hesitant to try again. Or the bandaid would “roll” on her finger and make a section of completely healthy skin blister. My kid is a great hand washer and the wart was right where the pencil rests while doing schoolwork, so maybe the other stuff works better on the top of the hand where you get less day to day rubbing. But this stuff? Genius! It is (not really) essentially super glue mixed with wart medicine. It keeps the medicine on through hand washing, school work, sports, etc. They say you don’t have to cover, but we still let it dry for 5-7 minutes AND covered lightly with a bandaid. We also bought cheap, disposable emery boards so that we could use to slough the skin every few days and not re-infect. It only took about 4 treatments across 9 days for the whole thing to slough off after a warm water soak. We are still going to treat several more times to make sure it is all gone. We just take a day break after a major peel as the new skin is a little sensitive. It worked for us! Especially good for small warts on highly used skin areas.
