I was told that these lemon drops must be put in water in a glass or metal container, not in plastic; because it absorbs toxins from plastic?

I don't think it's that the oils absorb toxins...it's more that the oils break down plastics. So a plastic cup will get cloudy and deteriorate over time. And I believe that is the case for most oils, not just lemon. For any you ingest, use glass or metal for drinking.

You should be able to add it to tea. I’ve added some to seltzer water for flavor. I think anything you’d think would taste good with lemon would work.
