Great Shade!
We were waiting for a second set of poles to arrive and decided to take our Neso to our local park to do a test run on it before we go to the beach later this summer. We have only ever had traditional canopies for our outdoor adventures and I have to say this was super easy to set up and use. Granted we did not fill the bags with sand(we donโt have beaches in WV), we just staked it in the ground for our test run. Setting up with stakes took all of 3 minutes to accomplish, we imagine filling the bags with natural elements like sand will take a bit longer but seems like maybe only an extra 10 minutes with 2 of us working on it at the same time. We had about 10MPH breezes rolling through and the Neso didnโt even notice the breeze. I think the only thing I would say is a con is that it doesnโt come with any type of shovel or anything to help you get natural elements into the sand bags. But thatโs easily remedied if you buy a folding shovel(we will before our beach trip), it will fit easily into the bag, as the carrying bag has extra room in there. A feature I didnโt realize was thereโฆ The carrying bag has an insulated pouch to carry a cold drink or two. Which is a nice touch. All in all, the set up was easy It provided sufficient shade for our family of 4. Didnโt budge in 10MPH breeze. Got a few compliments. Easy take down. Taking down and packing up was a breeze, so much easier than a traditional canopy. We are really happy with the performance and ease of use for this product. Update: Took our Neso sun shade out for its maiden voyage on the beaches of Outer Banks. The first day within the first 2 hours both poles snapped in half. Luckily we had purchased an extra set of poles before we left for the beach. Could by user error as we had only set it up at our local park before our beach vacation where there was a small breeze. The rest of our vacation our extra set of poles kept our Neso up, so as I said the snapping of the first 2 poles could have just been user error or a manufacturing issue. Setting it up, using sand to fill the bags was a breeze, quick and almost effortless. I had mentioned thinking we would need a shovel, but I was wrong, it was easy to fill the bags by hand and probably faster than using a shovel. We also took an extra step and buried the bags in the sand, which I think helped to keep the bags stable in the high winds. Taking down, I thought we would have issues with sand wanting to stick to the bag, but again I was wrong, if you shake the bags out properly, the sand doesnโt stick in the bags. All in all we are very happy with our purchase of our Neso Sunshade. We are sad that we are back down to one set of poles as we would like to have the additional set for other applications.

Slick and effective in wind.
I grew up, going to Lake Powell and Mexico to beaches where wind is always an issue, and we use pop-up shades as known throw-always after each season. I decided it was worth trying the extra money to not stress about breaking frames of pop-ups in the wind when I purchased this extra large Neso sunshade. I purchased two extra feet so that we could make it a hole for post shade. At first I was worried when I put it up because it was so wobbly but once we buried the sandbags for extra weight, itโs stretched out awesome. It moves with the wind and doesnโt grab it like a parachute like a pop-up shade. I love the color and the portability of it because it was smaller than a kids backpack. Iโm a little worried about how it will hold up where the posts sit inside of the Lycra. I guess we will see how long they last. But they look amazing and they are dynamic instead of static, which I think has made a huge difference. The sun does shine a little bit through, but it also lets a little wind through, and it moves with the wind. We loved it, and it looked stylish. It was definitely taller and way bigger than any other pop-up shades that we could manage. Highly recommend after 7 days at rocky point.

Big disappointment
I thought the idea of this large canopy was great and still do. But this product failed to provide the cover as advertised. First the sandbag idea sucks. That doesn't work unless you dig a hole in the beach and bury the sandbags. I found it easier to just get some beach umbrella augers, twist them in and tie it off. Extra time and money to come up with your own ideas to anchor the corners. Then the fabric ripped at the point of contact with the poles, the very place where you need the most strength. So the product is not very durable in the typical windy conditions at the beach. NOT excessive winds mind you. Normal beach wind. The weld between the fabric and the corner grommets all failed one by one. Had to rig rope and duct tape to salvage our beach trip. It comes with two poles for a lean-to setup. Realistically nobody is doing that on the beach so they're banging you for extra $$$ right up front by charging extra for the third and fourth pole. The goal was a large area canopy which is still the goal. But this product fails on cost, reliability, durability and ultimately it's utility value. It's very easy to take down. Just wait until the wind blows it over and pick up the pieces.

Surprisingly easy and works
I took one star off for not having detailed instructions on how much weight to put in the four bags . We started with two gallons of soft sand in a windy day and ended up needing four total gallons and wet sand worked better in terms of weight . If you donโt get enough weight in the bags , it will collapse as other reviews have had issues with . Just keep adding sand or rock and try again . As soon as you have the correct amount of weight , there are NO issues with the tent or canopy staying up even in HIGH wind . It Makes no noise which I was specifically looking for as its competition is loud . We got the gigantic and more than enough room for 5 of us. It does ripple in the wind so that was something I was not sure of , but seeing others on the beach , theirs does too and it does not fall in . Key is to add a lot of weight to the bags . Bring a bucket to help with that . We love it and love the whale fabric ! We alway used umbrellas and I could not get them deep enough , but this is great and easy for me to put up .

This is my second such tent - Gigante model. The first one still lasted 3 years - between 20 & 30 ~8 hour/day uses per year. Only used in summer on the Aegean and Black seas - on the beach with small rocks, sand and shells. - Downsides: 1. The corners where the elastic fabric is stitched to the leather part stretch even when there isn't that strong of a wind. They can hold some strong gusts and usually it is the sandbags that move and cause the falling, but the stitching appear as if it would rip in at some places. For us one of the corners partially ripped from a moderate gust of wind but the pole can still be put and the tent holds well with 4 and 3 poles up. 2. The poles are very durable and extremely well made. However one of the elastic ropes in a pole tore from the friction in the bag relatively easily and though it still worked it is more difficult to operate and needs fixing. The foam balls on the tips of the poles deform too easily, as a result of which the adhesive inside tore the foam and once no longer fixed to it, the tip of the pole cut through the foam ball and required strengthening and glueing back on. SPF is 50 at first but then after 1 year use due to friction and imperfect conditions falls probably by about 50%. 3. Can but shouldn't be used as light rain shelter. Make absolutely sure to dry and then pack up as the wet friction wears away the SPF and the tent can catch mould pretty fast as well. (not that it happened to ours but to others it did). 4. The bag wore out pretty fast , at the 10-20 use stitches were ripping. - Upsides: 1. Holds well. Easy setup under 5 minutes and easy to adjust or move if needed. 2. Easy to pack, weight is fine even with 4 poles and takes up the least amount of space in the car. 3. Perfect for a family of 4 + a dog, but can fit even 2 families of 4 easily. 4. Holds strong winds - not too strong though as the fabric stretches beyond repair and loses. Result: By a margin the better option on the market for daytime beach camping. Wouldn't recommend it for places with too strong and gusty winds as that wears the fabric out.

This tent is amazing, it really changed our summer holidays at the beach; however, the pole broke while standing and if you use stones as directed by the instructions, the sandbags break. Not sure if I was particularly unlucky but Amazon was great and refund me; I bought it again because it's great. I read also some reviews about strong wind: this is designed for string winds, this is exactly why I bought it in the first place. The trick is to set it up correctly, following the instructions and videos from Neso

Absolutely perfect. We used this to cover our little kid pool and it worked wonderful. Also, we didn't fill the pockets with sand or rocks but used tent pegs to secure the 4 corners in harder ground and sand and it worked perfect. Our first camping trip with it we were away from camp and a wind storm had come up and I for sure thought that the wind would have knocked it down, but it was still standing! Awesome! I love the idea that this shade is open on all four sides and that it lets the air flow through rather then a stuffy pop up sun shade. This take less then 5 minutes to set up, it's easy to back and throw in with the rest of your summer gear. This is a great investment and will be used a lot. The only kind of downfall with the Grande is that it does take a bit of room when it's set up because the strings that tie it down are long. Best to get it set up early before the beach gets busy because you might not have enough room. Overall, I definitely recommend this sun shade. I've had many inquiries and compliments on it.
