desertcart.com: The Vagina Bible: The Vulva and the Vagina: Separating the Myth from the Medicine eBook : Gunter, Dr. Jen: Kindle Store Review: Wow! Everyone should read, Man and Woman of all ages - Wow! I am an older gentleman reading various books to be a better partner, understand, and appreciate her. This was informative and a nice read, which was hard to put down. Guys out there, we have it easy and dismissive of her complexities, certainly should take the time to understand your partner, and it really would have been helpful to guide two daughters, whom I sent each this week, with a note I should have been there for them, knowing this. I'm not overly religous but the bible needs to be rewritten... God didn't create man first. He created a highly complex woman with all the special parts we men desire, and now I appreciate them more. When he started creating the Man, God must have been exhausted from his work and gave us a simple part with little understanding of the compassion for the woman we chase. Every man should be bowing down at her feet with an apology and ask with grace for forgiveness for our lack of understanding and compassion. It is a must-read Jen. Thank you for the beautiful read Review: Every woman should read this - Female healthcare has been woefully underfunded, under researched and practitioners (IMO) especially female practitioners underrepresented in research. This book is about your anatomy, ladies! Learn about your body.

Mythbusting!
I loved this book! Prior to reading it, I would have considered myself very knowledgeable about female health- I grew up in a family of all women, and lots of them, so nobody really shied away from discussing body issues or vaginal health. However, after reading this book, I was shocked to learn how many things I was taught about as being very important are actually unsubstantiated and functionally worthless! The author breaks down almost every issue you could possibly think of- from the generic sex and periods, to menopause and hormones, from BV and yeast infections to how diet impacts your genital health. And, best of all, she does this with research- every point is backed up with multiple studies and research into the legitimacy of each study, too. For example, she breaks down the myth that diet has anything to do with vaginal health because, embarrassingly obvious, your vagina is not connected to your digestive tract. Like, at all. Or, the myth that women with vaginas can 'only wear certain fabrics,' another myth, unsubstantiated with no evidence to back it up. It was honestly a fascinating book. Even better, it's broken down into chapters which are further broken down into short three page subsections for each issue, so it is both very easy to read, and very easy to navigate. I even made my partner read it because, well, he should know things too. A must read for anyone who knows a woman!

I recommend every living person to read this
I honestly can say that 5 stars is not enough to properly rate this book. I am a father to an amazing little girl, a husband to an amazing wife, and a future medical professional (not gynecology) and I recommend anyone who also falls into one of those categories (honestly every single person on the planet should read this) to pick up this book. Dr Jen Gunter basically wrote a “medical textbook” that is made for anyone to be able read and understand completely. Her writing is informative, put together in a way that makes sense, and is INCREDIBLY funny through out the book to keep your interest. I can say I have already learned a lot and I’m only 1/4 of the way through. I can say than any book Dr Gunter writes from this point on, I will pre-order and await its arrival with excitement and anticipation for the knowledge she will be imparting in my life. Thank you Dr Gunter for your 2 decades of work and caring enough to make you knowledge available to the world.

Jen Gunter is always the best
I was referred to Jen Gunter in San Francisco with Kaiser for a woman’s issues and she is the specialist you want to see. The normal gynecologists didn’t have a clue to what was going on. She is sympathetic and the kindest person for sensitive feminine issues and takes plenty of time to explain everything. I’m having her sign my book when I see her. I had TWO issues and she knew right away what they were and set me on the path to right healing. I’m SO GRATEFUL ! A great informative book from a fabulous lady who knows all about you and will fix you.

Must Must Resource for Everyone
OBGYN who gained social media buzz thanks to her “Myth Buster’s” like the prowling of Gwyneth Paltrow’s GOOP. “The Vagina Bible” is a scientific, fact-based answer to the gobbledygook of GOOP. The foreword reads “for every woman who has ever been told by some dude that she is too wet, too dry, too gross, too loose, too tight, too bloody, too smelly, this book is for you.” This book answers all of the questions you’ve been too afraid to ask, some you didn’t know to ask, and dispels myths about new age gynecological healing. Spend under $20 and get the book. It will save you thousands on regimes you don’t need — stuff that can actually be dangerous — and free up all those hours of internet surfing we do to answer simple questions such as “How do I know if I have a UTI?” and “Does yogurt cure a yeast infection?” (No). More importantly, the book arms women with a tool they can use to speak candidly with their doctors. She believes in informed consent: Give the patient all the facts and let the patient make the decisions. Wow, how refreshing to find a Dr. that actually believes patients can think. Dr. Gunter did her research and shared it with the rest of us. In doing so, she has become all women’s Dr. For that we should thank her.

Inclusive, affirming, and invaluable!
I just want to give a HUGE shout out to Dr. Jen Gunter for being affirming and inclusive in her book, “The Vagina Bible”. Unexpected and so appreciative that an ENTIRE SECTION is devoted to transgender bodies, implications for sex, periods, cancer screenings, and even in-depth explanations of surgical expectations for gender affirming hysterectomy and vaginoplasty! Finding a book about women’s bodies that includes transgender experience is nothing short of amazing — and sadly because it simply NEVER happens! Brava, Dr. Gunter! #SexMed

Thank you Dr. Jen. 👏 You remove the patriarchy and disinformation from our Vaginas. Loved reading this book and feel so much better equipped with knowledge about my own body that should have been shared with us already.

É tão bom estar bem informada, e nós mulheres somos bombardeadas com idiotices sobre nossos corpos que podem ser muito perigosas. Então, recomendo o livro da Dra. Jen!

I believe it is a pretty cool book that I wish I had had when I was younger! So much we ignore about our bodies, and it is only natural since the vagina is literally a magical place. If you have daughters or nieces, this would be a great gift.
