I have a vast array of cake decorating books in my collection and I've never come across one that I liked anywhere near as much as this book. With such a beautiful cover, I assumed that this would be the highlight of the book and then there would be a few other nice ones that I might try as well. I was not prepared to want to try about 90% of the ideas in this book. In fact, there are about 10 in here that could have easily been the cover recipe. The Romantic Rose Tower (although VERY intimidating) has got to be the most beautiful and original cake I've ever seen. I highly recommend this book - if just for the artwork! I can't wait to get started.

This book has some really pretty cakes and cookies. After reading through the book I decided to bake a cake using her recipe (I usually stick to Zoe Clarkes recipe).Anyway the temperature instructs you to bake the cake at 400 degrees! Of course, my cake was a disaster, it burned at the top and was uncooked. I cannot understand why you would bake a cake at this high a temperature. Waste of ingredients and time. However, her decorating ideas are good.

I've used this book over and over again. The cake flavors are delicious... The lemon is always a big hit. The steps are broken down clearly and there are a lot of really cute ideas in this book. I've made some of the cakes the way they are shown and also just used some of the different techniques from different recipes to design my own.

Love my new cookbook. It took a few days to get to me but I am happy that I am able to use my new cookbook and I didn't have to spend a lot of money.

I am enjoying this book very much. the instructions are easy to follow. I do have trouble finding some of the equipment.

ミニケーキやカップケーキ、クッキーなどまさにPRETTYな世界観！すごくかわいいです。私はクラフトの参考に買いましたが色使いや周りにオシャレな小物がなくてもかわいく写る写真の撮り方なども参考になります。

見応えがあって、たくさんのアイテムが載っているので見ているだけでも楽しい本です。但し、先に購入したPeggy's Favourite Cakes & Cookiesと、内容がかなり被っていてどっちかの購入でよかったのかなって思いました。中のデザインや構成もPeggy's Favourite Cakes & Cookies の方がかわいいです。

題のとおり、prettyなクッキー、カップケーキ、ミニチュアケーキ、ラージケーキが満載です。どれも華やかでパーティにはぴったりだと思います。ただ残念だったのは、先に購入した”Romantic Cakes"(by PEGGY PORSCHEN)のbasic equipment の部分が18ページまるまる同じだったことです。少し損をした気がするのは私だけかしら。

Peggy makes cakes for a living, she is extremely good at it. So this book has beautiful photographs of lovely cakes and biscuits some of which are going to be technically pretty demanding, this is not for beginners other than as a lovely source of ideas and techniques to build up to. Something that Peggy makes looks simple (for example her mini flower cookies where you pipe the royal icing into a flower shape to cover the biscuit) is more difficult than it looks and requires real dexterity. The photography is beautiful and it certainly provides inspiration but some of this stuff is really tricky. Also it's an American book - which I didn't realise before I bought it and therefore it's measurements are cups and sticks and she refers to ingredients like confectioner's sugar, all purpose flour etc. Quite a few of Peggy's recipes need specialist sugar craft equipment too. Having said that, her cakes sure are pretty and that makes it a lovely book to read.
