It is a constantly running pump with a pressure bypass valve which stops the exit pressure getting too high. I bought this to replace a faulty switched pump and now have to go shopping again as this pump is not suitable. Not happy. The clue is in the pictures, the 12v supply goes direct to the motor, with a proper pressure switched pump, the positive lead goes to the pressure sensor at the other end. Only discovered after fitting and time wasted diagnosing why the pump would not turn off. As usual too much hassle to chase returns and refunds, sometimes I think suppliers count on this.
