I did a mask beforehand (Indian Healing Clay/100% Natural Calcium Bentonite Clay - Also sold by Amazon). Then showered it off. I stayed in the shower a little longer than normal to really open up my pores. I used the pore vacuum on level 3. I definitely would not go higher than that for the face. You will get “hickey” marks. I did pick up on the tips about making sure your pores are opened by washing your face beforehand with warm water. I had my son try it out after his shower. He was hesitant because he didn’t know how to move it around to prevent the suction from leaving the dreaded red marks like the other brand.
