Remember when cars didn't have these?
I bought this item because I had never replaced the cabin air filter on my 2003 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS with over 100,000 miles. There was a thick coating of dust on the dashboard and it made me think that maybe the cabin air filter might be clogged. So, I wiped off the dash with a towel and took a look at the cabin air filter. As expected, the old filter was disgusting. There were leaves and dirt in it. It was moist in one section and something was growing in it.Upon changing the filter, I noticed no difference in air quality inside the vehicle. The AC and heater still work. The vents open and close. The defoggers do their job. Somehow, dust still gets on the dashboard. Then I realised, there are these two holes on the side of the car which are covered by the doors which people use to enter and exit. In addition to that, there are these buttons on the doors that make the side windows go up and down which people use to let dirty air in when it's too cool for the AC and too warm for the heat.Turns out, a cabin air filter is a useless device... However, I recommend that you change it regularly because disgusting things can grow inside of it... And who wants to breathe in that stuff? This item gets 5 stars because it fits in the hole and there's nothing growing in it.

Breathing easy driving down the road.
I'm so glad that me and my husband recently discovered that his 2008 Chevy Impala had an cabin filter. Because driving on busy roads everyday there's alot of stink from the outside always finds it's way in. Exhaust, fumes, the smell of gasoline there's so many stinky cars on the road today. My husband decided enough is enough and after a little searching and a You Tube video about a how-to for a easy cabin filter install we were ready to buy this. Two things about this cabin filter that's a plus. It's Fram, and it has Arm and Hammer deodorizing, no complaints about that.So installation was a breeze my husband popped off a couple of retaining screws that held the cal in front of the hood and took the old filter out which looked like it was never replaced before so it was gross. Now that the new one is in we couldn't be happier. No more smells when we're out on the road. Feels great. I think anyone who isn't sure whether or not they have a cabin filer in their car should look into it especially if outside odors are causing a hassle when using the air conditioning or heat too. Remember comfort is important.

Perfect fit!
Fit like a glove in a 2011 and 2012 Impala. Dealership was charging $50 to replace it. It's a 5 minute job after you glance at a couple you tube videos!

Good fit. Bit of work to install when doing it for the first time. But once you get to location, not that difficult.
