Fredrix Watercolor Canvas Pad 18X24

I love these watercolor canvas pads - though perhaps they should be called all purpose paint pads, as the surface is good for just about any type of paint and would be great for oil pastels as well. If you're an artist who prefers a lightly gessoed flexible fabric surface with just a bit of tooth, this is perfect. The pad format makes it easy to carry with you and mount or stretch later. If you want a more traditional canvas surface with deeper texture, this surface is NOT what you're looking for. The materials are quality and archival (acid free) something absolutely necessary to consider when creating any artwork that you want to be lasting.

I love watercolor but the paper generally has a texture that keeps compositions from looking clean and hinders detail. Canvas is generally impossible to paint on with watercolors because the solubility causes the paint to slick off, these canvas sheets are remarkable though and allow paint to adhere and dry brilliantly but also easily come out when going back in with water to remove paint for highlights. I would try it out for yourself but for me and my technique and style this is by far prime! Also, sheets can be cut down easily to fit any frame.
