The paint is thick, but not heavily pigmented so one coat of paint doesn’t cover the numbers and the lines.If you will invest another $8 in some Liquitex Gesso, and put a couple of light coats on your canvas before you begin, then one coat will provide sufficient coverage and this project can become what it is supposed to be - FUN! Don’t use the gesso at full strength, thin it with a bit of water. You want to make a translucent wash.Also, if you take the time before you begin to thin each paint pot with 3 or 4 drops of water and stir it in, your paint won’t be so thick and clumpy.In this kit, some of the background colors don’t exactly match what you see in the photo. But the finished piece is still very nice. ### ⭐⭐ Very difficult small areas to paint *by K***R on Reviewed in the United States on May 28, 2019* I think the pattern is very good, but the individual areas to be painted are incredibly difficult to paint without a magnifying lamp, and expensive brushes. The brushes included are not stiff enough and have uneven fibers so it is very easy to make a mess painting with them. After 3 tries of about 1 hour each, I got frustrated and threw the painting away. I did buy better quality brushes, but again, the spaces are small and irregularly shaped, so painting was not relaxing for me. I am sure someone with more patience and steadier hands will enjoy this kit.
