Must buy!
I cannot recommended this highly enough! If you have compost bins, you really want the Compost Crank. I've spent hours with a shovel and pitchfork, pulling from the bottom and rotating to the top, which works, of course, but this tool was so much more effective in just a few minutes of use. It is absolutely worth the price! Thank you, Ambrose Family!

Could not compost effectively without this.
I’ve been trying to compost for a while now. Every year, I would attempt to compost with leaves from my yard and kitchen scraps, but it would never turn out right. It was hard to effectively turn the compost, until I found this compost aerating tool. It’s easy to use and very well made. You just crank down into the compost and pull it up. It’s as easy as that. I give it and A++.

love this!!
while i can only turn it slowly, when i get to the bottom and pull up, it comes up with a core of bottom compost and busy, wriggly worms. i love how thorough i can be and i enjoy using this in my compost bin

Worth the purchase.
I was as skeptical as others before purchasing but found this to be definitely worth the price. It's well built and appears that it will last a long time. I also appreciate the mildly blunted end to not worry about damaging worms or gouging the sides of the bin. The Compost Crank is much easier to use than a shovel in the compost bin.If you have a larger container, use multiple shorter turns to aerate the material rather than longer twists, which will turn over more material. However, if you do, the Crank can support the weight and not feel like it's going to break.

Worth the price
Not cheap, but it is well made and absolutely cuts through my compost like butter (without injuring my worms). Works very well. Excellent purchase

Happy with this model
Both of the Lotech compost aerators are highly rated by buyers. This one (the twist version) is about half the cost of the crank model. The procedure for both aerators is to twirl it down to the bottom of the composter and then pull straight up. I concluded that I would be better able to pull up with this model because it has an unbrella handle. The more expensive model appears to lack a good handle to pull up with. And it's really not a problem to twirl down manually with this one.The aerator itself is well designed and made, and it arrived earlier than promised.

It works!
I have a large Geobin, almost filled to the brim that’s never been properly turned. I was determined not spend any money on a compost turner and instead had been using a mop handle and a lot of brute strength to plunge some holes into the compost. My compost never started “cooking” even after over a year and lately, I could no longer get the handle more than a few inches into the mass. I took the plunge and purchased this turner due to the simple construction and reasonable price. The construction of this turner is very solid and seems like it will last for a long time. At first I was worried that the curved hook was bent by accident, but looking at other reviews realized that it is intentional. I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to turn the screw into the compost. Even pulling the turner out was pretty easy, especially if I stand on the stairs next to the bin. I only wish that the pole was maybe 6 inches longer to reach the very bottom of my bin. It comes pretty close though. A larger screw would also be great to reduce the turning time. The hook at the end is quite practical allowing me to hang the turner along the side of the bin. It’s only the fist day, but I’m quite happy with it so far. I love that it’s made in the USA.
