Can these be used for such purpose?** A: No. Not if they'll be near fire. They aren't fireproof. Although if you're leaving your ceramic tile in place you would still have that. These are vinyl. Could you maybe put black 4" ceramic around the opening closest to the fire. Then place these after that. You may have to double up on the vinyl tiles to match the thickness of the ceramic. The other thing is I think I have seen ceramic tiles with this pattern on them too. Or at least close **Q: Hi, are this easy to remove? Anyone tried?** A: Usually easy to remove but depends on floor below. eg over tile would be ok **Q: I would like to these on the floor of the cabinet under my kitchen sink. The floor is currently plywood. Would i need to paint the plywood?** A: I would think you would not need to paint, this is a peel & stick tile so it's not picky on what you stick it to. **Q: Can you use these on a fireplace surround?** A: I would always use stone or ceramic near a fireplace. Highly recommend for an economical renovation. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Products need improvement *by S***Z on September 15, 2021* If you live in a rental and can’t stand the existing linoleum flooring like me, Floorpops are a decent solution. Pros: Tiles are simple enough to install and relatively easy to trim with a box cutter or scissors. They give me a look I want in our rental. Cons: Reviewers were right! This pattern is not printed symmetrically, making it one heck of a headache to lay. I spent more time turning tiles than I did on actual trimming and installation. In the end, I took an oil-based sharpie and fixed the pattern problems. I scrubbed the floor with dish soap and a bit of alcohol to make sure all debris was gone, and tiles still didn't adhere well to the floor. I even stood my 140 lb body on top of each one after laying, and some still popped up. Maybe that’s why they’re called FloorPOPS? Out of 30 tiles, about 5 or 6 were scuffed, dirty or bore some kind of defect. Lastly, they don’t seem to sit well next to one another. No matter how hard your push while installing, there’s a small gap where all tiles meet. They don’t lay smooth. Things I would improve: 1-Make all patterns symmetrical so customers have a faster, simpler install. 2-Make tiles thinner. If the tiles were made of less material they would stick down better.
