Wren Bird Hse Red Cedar

Full disclosure – not a single bird has yet made its home in this house. I bought this house for my mom after her last wren house crashed during a storm at the beginning of the season. She loves her wrens so was very disappointed, so I bought this to make her feel better. It is very well made and I think the only reason it did not get a new family was because it was too late in the season. I will hope for the best for next year, but as I said, very nicely made and seems like it will stand up to the weather much better than the last one did.

I hung this wren house for possible winter protection near our outdoor shower. A Carolina wren has been perching in surrounding shrubbery between trips to the suet feeder in this sub freezing weather. Now wren #2 has arrived and they are checking out the house along with other possibilities for early spring nest building (wreaths, a boot tacked to a tree, another birdhouse). There is definite interest in this cute little bungalow.

I hung these in october for wrens to winter in. Put some pure wool fuzz in bottoms to get them started

95% of craftsmanship was fine...it was the leaky patch of the knot on the roof that was an issue. Refund/Money was expediently issued. Fortunately, my husband could patch—looks perfect now. We’ll see if it stands the test of the elements. I love wrens! I’d love a latch to make it easier to clean out at the end of the season.

The quality of this bird house is very good and looks adorable hanging just outside my bathroom window. The birds love it, too!
