Crisp bright color!
I have been using an HP printer for several years and was very pleased with the crisp color laser quality. I was forced to purchase a new computer that was not compatible with the printer. I have a Brother MFC black/white which I use for fax, copy, and black and white print that I am quite happy with so when I decided to order a new color laser printer I first purchased a Brother MFC color/laser. I was so disappointed in the quality of the color print that I returned the product immediately and decided HP was the way to go. I read reviews on this machine and decided this was the one to try. The quality of printing is outstanding and the ease of set up was great. I have only had it for a few days so I can't review long term qualities but so far I am impressed.

Good Features but constantly freezes and needs reboots
****UPDATE 4/2/18**** Not sure why I still use this printer. In the past almost two years since the last update, things have not gotten better. I'm into daily reboots with this printer. It CONSTANTLY freezes out of the blue. It won't print and the touch screen is frozen so you can't copy or do anything. Need to do a hard reboot each time. This is happening 1 to 4 times a day right now. I've updated to the latest firmware, reinstalled drivers, etc. HP has been absolutely no help in getting this fixed or offering suggestions at this point. Look at the other reviews on this as well, this printer just needs to be avoided at all cost. It's a true shame as this would be FANTASTIC printer without the constant lock ups. ****UPDATE 7/7/16**** After talking to a few people on the HP forums, they had me disable IPV6 network settings and this has helped with most of the random freezes on the printer. Not sure why IPV6 is enabled by default if they know it causes issues. The printer still freezes when copying with the automatic document feeder. The guys on the forum gave me instructions to re-calibrate the feeder using a secret dev menu and custom sized sheets of paper. This helped alleviate some of the freezing but it still freezes while copying. They also said this printer is extremely sensitive to power issues. Pretty much said it would have issues if plugged into a battery backup or any sort of surge protector. I had both my units plugged straight into the wall and still have issues. Seems like HP has some sort of problem with these units. I'm not raising my rating on the review because spending over $800 on a printer, there should be quirks or random freezing issues that cannot be solved. Getting into contact with HP support is also problematic. ****ORIGINAL REVIEW BELOW**** This printer has a great set of features and would be an excellent printer if it actually worked. I bought one, and immediately started having problems. At least twice a day, if not four, fix, six times a day, the printer needs to be completely power cycled. Sometimes it fails to completely wake up from sleep. When this happens, the printer will "feeze" and not print or respond to touch controls. Other times, when I'm copying using the document feeder, it will scan the first page in and freeze on the second page. When this happens, the printer will respond on the touch panel but it will not print/scan/copy/fax. This also needs to be power cycled. This gets extremely frustrating when I have customers at the counter waiting for their paperwork and the printer is constantly acting up. I figured it must of been a problem with the specific printer I had, so I returned it and bought another one new in box. I have the exact same problems with the second printer and it all started immediately out of the box. I tried running the printer as is when I received it, and also flashed the updated firmware available from HPs site which made zero difference in how it operated. It's a great printer when it works and prints fast, especially in Duplex mode, but which the daily, sometimes hourly freezes, I can't recommend anyone to buy this printer. Talking to HP customer service was no help in getting the printer fixed either. Basically told me to have someone service the printer, but I shouldn't have to service a brand new printer, especially when I had two in a row with the same problems.

Great printer - FAST
I like it so well I recently purchased a second one for my home office. It comes with enough toner to run in a modest use environment for months. The only drawback is that a request to scan, while the printer is in 'sleep' mode, will not wake up the printer. You must touch the screen to wake up the printer. Not a big deal if the printer is close, as are both of mine.

Good product but it’s pricey
Workhorse for my office - product is expensive and so are the ink refills but the best print quality out there in my opinion for an all in one machine

Great Printer!
This printer was the easiest device I have ever had to install. It handles everything I throw at it with great ease and the printing quality is excellent. I picked this printer mostly due to the name and I haven't been disappointed.

It copies and scans fine... It just won't print... and, constantly needs to be power cycled!!!
This printer has been a disappoint for me since I purchased it 6 months ago. I read both the positive and negative reviews of this product and was kind of aware of what I was getting myself into... But, I never imagined that it would be this bad. I have owned HP printers for the past 30 years. All of this models predecessors were of the quality you would expect. However, this one really stinks up the place. I am unable to make this print consistently... I am always having to power cycle it on the hope that it will actually work... Which is about 20% of the time. My wife is having the exact same problems as I am... It is very frustrating to know that I $750 on a printer 6 months ago and am looking to replace it with something else.... Unfortunately, most of the printers in this class have similar problems... It is almost like they want you to spend $3,500 to get a decent multi-function printer... Now giving it 1 star (only because there is on 0 star) . This printer has been a disappointment from the beginning... I would happily give it to anyone who would take it...

2 Years Later - GARBAGE!
HP really has sunk to new lows. This printer wasn't cheap and gives us nothing but problems. One thing after another, its incredible how infuriatingly frustrating this thing is. Just spent 30 minutes trying to get it to scan something and it decided to give me every other page and then stop scanning 3 pages short. The software is terrible too. They look so pretty and professional but every HP I have owned over the last 3 years has let me down in some way. I'm done HP, do you hear me? Done.

Great print quality; temperamental machine
The prints that come off the machine look great. We've printed more than 10,000 pages in the three months we've had the printer. So if you're willing to reboot the printer every few days and fully unplug/restart it every few weeks, then go for it! But it definitely is a temperamental machine. It will print fine for a few days and then someone will send a job that the printer does not like and it will sit and process the print job, but not print it. You can cancel the print job and send it to another printer, but then it seems like it still sits thinking about the job it just cancelled. And there comes in the reboot. Turn it off, turn it back on, and all the leftover job fragments clear out. Every few weeks, however, it takes a little bit more: a full turn off, unplug the machine, wait a minute, plug it back in, and then turn it back on. If the print quality was not good, I probably would be looking to return the printer.
