Vornado 143 Whole Room Air Circulator Tower Fan with Timer and Remote Control, 29", Black

Spent so much money on fans over the last few years. All kinds- box fans, rotating fans, ceiling fans- weird window fans from china with controls that don't make any sense (no offense, China! I love you, but you know how it goes). The box fans all rusted after a year (salt air on the pacific coast), and only blow in a straight line. These are great when you first get them then they get old and noisy. Rotating fans but we have tall ceilings where the heat just festers- and you are cool for 2 seconds while you melt waiting for the rotation to come back around. Ceiling fans are good- but they are only in certain areas. So basically, I did this multi-year experiment where I threw some money down the drain and was constantly irritated with the cheap products I was mostly buying. And then this. So happy with this- actually moves all the air, all the time- not very loud (compared to what I'm used to). The remote- eh- it's kinda cheap but we won't use that anyway and it wasn't a selling point for us. Just another thing that needs batteries. It does work adequately- about what you would expect- line of sight- not too far away, but it does work. I was convinced by the reviews and so took a chance- spent a little more money and now, this is my brand. I also bought the most powerful Vornado fan for another area- and also was not disappointed at all with that. Great purchase(s)! It's cool air is on me right now, as I write this- had it a couple months now.

I love this fan, I have it in two sizes. It does not take up a lot of space, it's very quiet and multiple speeds make it usable. I don't use the remote or the timer because I am mobile but if I did use it, it would be a great addition for me.

I use a variety of fans throughout the house during summer and needed something compact for the bedroom. The size is perfect for my needs and the airflow is sufficient but, on a hardwood floor, the fan is noisy. Only, the highest speed is the least noisy but it still squeeks. The base is two-part and a little flimsy...this seems to be part of the problem. I've cut up a piece of rubber sheet and placed it under the base but this doesn't solve the problem entirely...it still rattles on two speeds and squeaks on all 3.

For starts it was smaller than what i expected but with that i did feel it had some good amount of power for wind strength. I will say the design of the fan is interesting and takes some understanding and adjustments to fully get where the wind is blowing towards. At mid and low setting its really hard to feel the wind blowing and might also feel like its now blowing at all. But be assured it is doing its job i have noticed the room the fan is in just feels cooler than other parts of the apartment so its doing something there. The reason it doesnt get 5 stars is for the size of the fan i feel like an there should be an easier way with putting on the base I had some issue with trying to fit it on correctly and trying to make sure the screw would catch properly. Also for the fan being a such unique design would have been helpful to get a suggestion of how to place it and angle it because having to do it trial and error can take a lot of time. Also jus know that it is not tall or big at all it is short and small.

It looked cool and sounded unique, so I took a chance and bought the 143 29inch model. It is super tiny! It doesn't seem like 29inches at all. Very weak air flow even when it's right in front of you. Looks nice, but the performance is very poor!!!! Low noise, but that's not important to me.

My favorite fan I’ve had two of these ordered another after my first broke 5 years later loud and that’s why I love it perfect at night!

"Whole room" is a complete lie. I say this after owning a different Vornado fan for the last 7 years that's still going strong. Even at highest speed, this device barely moved air, there was no cooling effect, the slanting grille made it very difficult to direct airflow in any particular direction. The only reason I gave it two instead of one is how small a footprint it has and how easy it was to attach the base.

This stays on 24/7. What else can I say. Great product.
