Film quality blew me away
My favorite 400 speed C-41 film. It was selling for $50 for a 5 pack. I bought 15 rolls and wish I bought more. The priced is double now but it's still reasonable for the quality you get.I also have experience shooting this and not developing it for 10 years. I can say that it holds up very well in the temperatures of a house in a mild climate with no AC. Much better longevity in storage than Portra 400, which I also compared, and that one had black flake-off on its emulsion. The film tends toward blue. It delivers amazing deep color rendition on anything that is blue or green, like most Fuji films. The grain is barely noticeable compared to other films of this speed. I shoot it in 6x9.

I really love shooting with this film. I bought as much as I could afford to cold store for the future.

Was skeptical but it's the REAL DEAL
Since Fuji discontinued 400H I was leary that this might be expired or not as advertised. I was wrong. Arrived just as it said it was and was well in date. A great buy at a weirdly great price for an excellent (and missed) color neg stock.

Best when used outdoors
I use this with a Contax 645 Zeiss 80mm lens and the outdoor pictures of people are amazing! Greens of nature and skin tones are wonderful and the bokeh is amazing. I WOULD NOT personally recommend this for shooting people indoors though. I find it far too warm and usually skin tone looks red/orange.

Quality Professional Film Stock
This is a solid medium format film stock, fast enough to shoot in shady conditions. And with the current surge in film princes, it's hard to believe that this is less than $10/roll!

Great find.
Was looking for this stock since it was discontinued. Was expecting prices to be sky high but this one seemed pretty fair.

Viable alternative to Kodak. I miss Fujifilm
I’ll be honest, I bought this more because it was the cheapest I’ve seen any color film in a long time. With Kodak’s ridiculous monopoly on the color negative film market, finding professional grade film for under $10/roll is like finding a unicorn. For my example images, I scan with a medium format camera and convert the scans in Lightroom using Negative Lab Pro.COLOR/CONTRAST/SATURATION: Right out of the gate this film has that classic cool Fujifilm color cast to it. If that’s the look you’re going for, great. But if you want that warm, more natural looking Kodak glow, it warms up just fine in post. I included an unedited scan of my dog next to an edited one where I warmed it up a bit just to show you the Fuji color cast I'm talking about. Once I warmed the photos up, the greens popped and everything looked more natural. Keep in mind you shouldn't put too much stock into color cast. With modern software and technology, color correcting in that regard is easy and painless. It was more of an issue a long time ago when technology was somewhat limited but that's not the case today. It's literally a small adjustment of the temperature and tint sliders to achieve the look you're after. A film's look nowadays is more about saturation and contrast being baked into it, which is more difficult to manipulate.SCANNING: The negatives dried nice and flat, which made it easy to scan. No complaints there.GRAIN: The grain in this film could be viewed as a bad thing if you’re used to shooting Kodak Portra 400 or T-Max 400, which has exceptionally fine grain. But I would say the grain is about on par with other professional grade 400 speed films. Yes, the grain is there but for many people, grain is the reason they're shooting film anyway. I find the grain to be pleasing but it's not the reason I shoot film. It's not messy like cheap grocery store film. If grain bothers you, I will share with you something a photographer friend of mine told me, which totally changed the way I look at photography. He said "I believe that anyone who insists on studying the grain of an image instead of appreciating its content is missing the point of a photograph" In other words, the grain's not what matters. Is your photo good? If it is, it doesn't matter how much grain is present. Viewers will appreciate the photo, not the grain.Overall I like this film mostly because it's a viable alternative to Kodak film right now. You honestly can't beat the price, which is unfortunate in it of itself because $50 is the upper limit of what I'm willing to spend on film. Not long ago, $50 5-packs was considered very expensive but thanks to Kodak's vice grip on the film market, this is now a bargain, sadly.
