Luster's S Curl Texturizer Regular Strength, 15 Ounce

And this item used to be my holy grail in high school.Disclaimer:If you have straight, relaxed, chemically processed hair or if your hair is not naturally spirally or curly when wet this texturizer will not work for you. Because it is meant to loosen your natural curl to make an elongated S curl. If your hair is 4C a it will only make your hair soft but it will not look wavy or like an S. If your hair has been chemically processed (dyed) it could make it straight instead of curly; do a patch test in the back closest to your nape.This item can be used for long/medium length hair too. My hair is collar bone length and it works just fine.How I Use:From my observation putting the S curl on the hair closer to the root first is the best way to apply. If you don't your hair will be wavy and your roots will be frizzy. Leave on hair for 6-7 minutes max if you want the results I have curly textured but not straight or too loose. I did mine as fast as I could. Detangle first, in 4 sections DO NOT PUT ON YOUR SCALP. Put it on the hair closest to the scalp but not on your skin. Grease your scalp edges and forehead with vaseline to avoid burns. Try to be done with applications in 3-4 mins (be fast). It starts processing right away and you want even curls. Set a timer and start. Lastly. The very ends will need to be trimmed.Cons:-Does not come with gloves orneutralizing shampoo.- You will need to keep your hair moist all the time or it will break very easily as the texturizer weakens your strands.I am not a paid reviewer just glad I found a item that I can easily manage my thick hair with. I needed this SO badly. I wear my kinky 4C hair "natural" and with the drier Fall weather, it suddenly became very shrunken and hard to twist style and comb out without a lot of breakage.Wasn't looking for a straightener as much as something to stretch the roots and soften the rest of the hair. This is perfect. It's not too strong and if you leave it on only for a very short time, it's gentle.It didn't make me lose my natural curl pattern but it did soften and elongate the coils. I didn't put any on the ends but stayed just above the roots and about an inch out from the root.Much, much cheaper to get this jat than to buy a kit. I will be able to use this one jar at least 4 more times - at the very least.The one thing I wish was that they included at least one pair of gloves. Luckily I had a pair and I already have neutralizing shampoo.One other thing: depending on your hair type, be prepared to do DEEP conditioning as soon as you wash your hair. This can be really drying if you don't condition and seal the hair straight after. Once I did that, the next day I was able to apply my usual moisture and leave-in. My hair feels good and looks so much better.Some people think you aren't "natural" if you use this but I look at it as a mild solution for making my hair more manageable. My natural curls are still here, just easier to deal with and not breaking all the time.

I absolutely love this texturizer. It was very easy on my hair and I used the affirm substance to coat my scalp.I cut a piece of my hair to do a test and after 21 minutes I got a perfect s-curl.My hair is 4a/4b/3c and this texturizer made it 2c/3a/3b! My hair can take moisture, it didn't have any of that weird build up stuff. LOOOOOVE IT

This is the best texturizer I’ve used. The trick is to leave it in only for one or two minutes— five minutes for the most even if you feel that your hair needs more time to be processed.As for me, I have a number of different textures in my hair which ranges from 3b/3c Thru 4a/4b hence the reason why I use a texturizer. Both my side burns and a small portion at the top front of my hair are 4a/ 4b whereas the rest of my hair is between 3b/3c. So, I use the texturizer to soften these area so they can blend in with the rest of my hair and it works fine. But as I said earlier, you need to leave it no longer that two to five minutes. It quickly softens my 4a 4b areas and even starts to bun if I let it go longer.I hope this helps someone.

Good for sorting hair texture not all hair it would make silky and wavy. Your hair come back normal after a while..

This is not suitable for womens hair. Maybe men with really short hair

Excellent Product

I ordered this from Canada. Product took about 2 weeks to arrive which was okay since I was aware at time of ordering. However, the contents were spilled in shipping package and had to scoop what I could recover. Product looks great for the bit I could try. It’s soft compared to the popular men’s wave cream and less sticky. I would have given a 5star if I received my complete product. The container needs a film wrapper on the lid given that it ships internationally, my 2 cents!

I'm so sad... ITS CREAMY CRACK I bought the wrong one. So I dont get tempted, I got rid of it. I know I could have returned it, but knowing I have it I would get tempted.

Didn’t do anything for my hair. Comes without the neutralizing shampoo and conditioner so you have to buy separately.
