Transformers: The IDW Collection Volume 2 Hardcover – October 19, 2010

Like the IDW collection volume 1, this one is also a fantastic bargain and is a keeper. The book is quite large at 392 pages, and is made from high quality paper. There is a string page keeper built in so you don't lose your place in the collection. The collection is just the stories in the description, and has NO extras. The art varies throughout the book. Strombringer has some of the best Transformers art you will ever see, while Escalation leaves much to be desired. You will enjoy the spotlight series included, as they all combine to tell an overall story with each containing bits and pieces. My favorite spotlight story is Ultra Magnus in the collection. You see him as an enforcer of the law and he is chasing down Scorponok. And YES,It is a must for every transformers fan.Pages are in impecable condition. It even has a foreword from the artists in the beginning. And for all those thinking there are no cover arts. YES they are IN there.I love the hard covers of each Volume. A Decepticon / Autobot stands out with its massive bust. Way cool.My only hope if they would release the G1 Comic Encyclopedia again MTMTE Volumes, and in this very way. (But thats another story)---------------About the shippment.I am from Chile and I requested this comic through Amazon.The comics did arrive in the nick of time (even earlier than I expected) and in impecable condition.So.. Five Stars for this...............One important notice.For all you transformers fans. I would highly recommend to buy these editions now. They are invaluable.If you wait too long (maybe a couple of years), maybe its value would raise too much and two things might happen.I will be out of stock! You might find it for an absurd price like it happened on the More Than Meets the Eye Transformer encyclopedia. (Right now the prices is very reasonable).And I will end once again. It's very much worth it.

Come on now. The entire series is amazing. And now you can read them in chronological order instead of the time line they were published.

The binding is good and strong, I do wish this series was organised chronologically rather than by theme , so you may have to look up a reading guide. The book itself is beautifully crafted

This is a great collection of the idw universe and all of the story lines that they have created for the transformers universe. It is nice to see the transformers put into a deep and more dark world that fits in with the fact that they have been in a millions of years civil war that is still raging. Great for any true fan or for those who have started to be introduced to the many different alternative universes that make up the Transformers name and brand.

This is a pretty good collection of quality Transformer stories and spotlights. We get to see plenty of Optimus Prime, Megatron, Omega Supreme, Monstructor, and various other well know or lesser know bots. If you’re a fan you might have read some of this in the past, but I still recommend it because it’s a good read.

A good collection for those wishing to experience phase one of the original IDW run of books. Good writing, good art and a wonderful buy.

As I stated in my review for the first collection, I'm a hugely biased transformers fan, so tale from that what you will. All that aside, this is an absolutely brilliant follow up. The two following mainline stories absolutely ramp up the action, while featuring the first Optimus vs Megatron battle. Absolutely brilliant. On top of that, the standalone stories known as 'spotlights' were absolutely brilliant. The Kup one far exceeded my expectations, taking an interesting direction I never thought they would take it. Then it ended with Optimus himself, offering a little insight to the question of how he deals with the pressure of being leader of the autobots. Overall, this was a fantastic collection, throughly earning it's 5/5 rating. If you're a transformers fan, you simply have to buy these!

The book is very interesting itself, and 5 🌟 for it, but was received damaged on the corners, unacceptable for a collection series. Have to return. And the return request accepted for this moment.

The IDW comics really do the Transformers franchise the justice it deserves. Being a fan of Transformers I'm always looking to get my fix and these volumes fill that need. With beautiful artwork and a great story coupled with beloved characters explored in new ways, I have no complaints whatsoever. The series itself has an over-all darker tone than previous incarnations of the Transformers which really brings the franchise to a whole new level for more matured fans. These stories may be geared more towards those a little familiar with the Transformers Universe but that being said, if you know nothing about the series and are just a lover of comics I would still recommend these books. I purchased Volumes 1 and 2 of Phase One after a friend's recommendation and before I even finished reading Volume 2 I had already placed my order for the next 4! The price may seem a little much at first but when you consider the number of comics you get per volume and the quality of the hard cover and its artwork the value is more than there. A must buy for Transformers fans.
