Perspectives on Nursing Theory

As a DNP student, this book was wonderful in helping clarify the concepts and perspectives on Nursing Theory. Theory is a very abstract concept that requires a higher level of thinking that is not easily developed. This book does a wonderful job at laying the foundation and preparing an individual to develop an increased cognitive process related to nursing theory.

This is a required textbook for a class. Most of it is clearly written. Good theory book but outside application in practice will be limited to none unless you are doing research

Good analysis of theories

This book (which is a collection of published articles) provides the basic informations that a graduate nurse student would need to understand the theoretical lenses employed by nursing scholars to generate nursing knowledge. I would recommend reading this book before start reading about the philosophy of science in nursing.
