Very Encouraging and Neat Parenting/ Marriage Tips!
If you have watched nearly every TLC episode of this family, the book is a little repetitive of what you've already seen. But it also includes things that are not in the show, like marriage and parenting advice. And it's really good advice and worth it! A few of the things I learned... how to make your child sit still for some quiet time (blanket training), the importance of memorizing scripture and how to do it in a fun way that leaves your child wanting more, how to advise a teen/ pre-teen on dating/ marriage/ etc- they were extremely open and honest and practical in this area!, the importance of teaching your child to be friendly to others, the neatness of having a fun family unwind time each night before bed and bonding, making you aware of how mom/dad can get frazzled or angry and how to handle that in a healthy way. Overall, I really enjoyed this book. I'm a busy mom, so I had to stay up a little late 4 nights in a row to get this book read, it was worth it!

Such a great book!
I cannot put this book down! I don't watch television much but do turn on the Duggar's show from time to time. It is so nice to see such a genuine family with morals and values. Some people think they are extreme but I find it so refreshing to see people living up to their beliefs and how they have been called to behave. The kids are not sheltered in anyway and through this are actually able to do so much and see so much. This book has excellent advice for individuals and families and I recommend it to anyone.

An amazing family with an amazing love for th Lord
I was hesitant to read this book because, to be honest, I have always thought the Duggars to be a little crazy. I am a Christian, but their beliefs on birth control and such are a little extreme for me. I as SO pleasantly surprised by how much this book touched my life, changed my heart, and improved my look on parenting. Michelle and Jim Bob give SUCH great advice that is Biblical and doable. They do not judge others who do things differently than themselves and they are not saying you HAVE to do it their way. They just tell you how things are done in their house and what they believe, and urge others to prayerfully make their own decisions on the matter.I admire Jim Bob and Michelle. They have some amazing, well behaved, children that love the Lord and have respect for others. I can only pray that I do as good of a job with my own family. I am so glad we have them in the "spotlight" to be great examples.

Interesting
Michelle and Jim Bob from the TLC show have given us another peak into their life and parenting style. The book begins right before the birth of their last and nineteenth child. About half of the book deals with the trails and blessings that accompanied her birth. The other half of the book talks about their marriage, parenting style, and how they deal with issues that come their way. The book includes recipes and black and white photographs to accompany each chapter.I'm not a huge fan of the show. I've enjoyed the couple of times that I watched, but it really isn't my thing. I read the book only because it was picked for my book club. That being said, I did enjoy reading it. I certainly don't agree with everything that was mentioned. But I also learned some new and interesting things. The authors often refer to the show or previous book so I'm not sure if it contributed to my confusion or not; but the book felt a bit choppy and disjointed at times. In summery, it was a neat book that was a nice break from what I normally read. I think fans of the show will really enjoy this extra glimpse into a unique family.

A Love That Multiplies: An UpClose View of How They Make it Work. ( The Duggars second book)
This book is fantastic! I thought the first one was great. I have read it over and over. It is worn out. The first book was done in paper-back. This new second book is done in hard-cover, whick I really prefer in a book that I know I will be reading over and over. It just seems to hold up better. The stories in the book are so uplifting. I hate to put the book down. I just find myself wanting to read more and more. The Duggar Family has such an interesting life. The book is so well written. I highly reccomend this book!

Quick, Authentic, and Useful
I'm not as religiously conservative as the Duggars but I'm fascinated by how they have so many well-behaved children and Michelle never yells!! I have a toddler and thought maybe reading this book would provide some tips for controlling my temper when he gets out of hand and how to help guide him into being a well-behaved child. Reading from my perspective, I found the book thick with usable advice and anecdotal support for the Duggar's God-centered methods. I feel like the bulk of the advice is common sense for living respectfully in a group (but things we probably all need reminded of from time to time). I highlighted a ton- probably too much- and I plan to reread this book a few times. It's a quick read and you can tell by the rhythm and colloquialisms that Michelle and Jim Bob really did author it; I appreciate the authenticity.

I enjoyed this book so much
I enjoyed this book so much. I will buy more of their books as they write them. I totally love this spiritual inspiring family. Despite the gossip and judgement being put on them, they did the best any parent would have done in their place. I would have done the very same thing as they. he was a minor with childhood curiosity. That is why we as adults need to remind our children to be careful of the things they do as children because it DOES follow you through adulthood. No secret ever stays a secret FOREVER. I still admire them and Josh for coming forward when it did come to light. SHAME on the police authority that betrayed her sworn duty to not talk of the things she hears and knows of on her job. She is the one that should be being criticized NOT the God fearing Family

Honest, helpful, well written. One of my favorite "reality"-show books.
Michelle and Jim Bob share tips and ideas and they tell their stories in an honest and charming way.The book is something to learn from but also fun to read. Its easy to relate to their life even if they are so special. Plus there are some nice recipes in it. Its entertaining and educating, its well written and made with love.

A great example of a Christian family!
I've watched the Duggars eversince their 14 kids and counting, and building their houses series and although they're now up to 19 children and 2 grandchildren, they're as interesting as ever. It's so rare these days to see such a positive portrayal of a Christian family, it's a breath of fresh air! My own 2 daughters love the TV series as well, and we've already read through parts of the book together, which is both wholesome and informative. I'd recommend this to anyone!
